Lacy
"Sssshhhhh" i think. "just stay quiet and wait.
I close my eyes and hope that they leave. I can't feel my feet or hands. The sunny day has turned into a thunder storm and my worst nightmares have come true.
"Trouvez-la! Nous ne partons pas sans elle." A deacon yells and i hear the breaking of branches, twigs, and feet wandering through mud.
I couldn't breath. i couldn't move. i couldn't think of anything other than 'don't get caught. you can't let them find you. Troy needs you.' my eyes are closed so tightly and my breath has been held for so long that i felt dizzy. hot, salty tears fall down my cheeks but it doesn't matter since I'm already soaking wet and covered in mud.
I suddenly heard someone yell and my eyes shot open. 'was that me yelling?' i panic and see the bright white flashlights group together and then all shuffled towards the left of me. I felt the mud hit my face as they ran past. i felt like saying 'fuck you!' but i kept my mouth shut tight.
i suddenly got so dizzy and gasped for air. the cold frost-bitten night stung my throat as i quietly breathed trying not to fall over. i must have sat there, frozen, terrified for 10 minutes before feeling safe-ish to make my way back to troy. the whole point of me going out was to find more food, but i had dropped it in a old parking lot not to far from where i was. i got to my feet and crouch-walked towards the lot. i couldn't think of anything or feel anything because the only thing on my mind was 'get the food for troy'.
And thats exactly what i did.
