I shivered violently in the five blankets Lacy wrapped me in when she left this morning. She told me she'd be back soon with food and money to last us a few days. That was 9 hours ago.
Now I can't sit up straight, I just clench my stomach and shiver with my knees to my chest. 'When will she be back, when will she be back?' I can't stop thinking about that question and I can't stop wondering if she will ever come home.
I haven't eaten in almost 2 days and the temperature is dropping too fast and I can feel my body shutting down.
I'll just close my eyes for 5 minutes, or 10, or....
