"ARE WE GUYS READY?" Ziggy asked everyone while he's starting to open the engine of the van.
Jessie looked at her back. She counted her friends using her index finger while looking at them. Alorie and her boyfriend Tristan was on the second seats, while Sammy and the two siblings, Gold and Silver were on the last seats of the van. When she assured that everybody is already here, she straighten her sit. "We're all in, let's go!"
Everyone's giggling in excitement. It's very obvious that they're keen for their long one week vacation in their province.
Like what they've been concerted. They will visit their province first before the result of their bar exam came. It's been a very long time since they stayed in that province. When they graduated from junior high, they're parents decided to stay in manila for good, they also continue their studies there until they graduated from college.
After they spent their ten years in Manila for their studies. Two years of senior high, four years of their pre- law and four years for their lawyer's degree. After the graduation, they took bar exam and hopefully they'll passed it.
"Gold, did you also lived in our province?" Sammy asked her friend next to her.
"No, I didn't." Gold immediately answered.
"Ano ka ba Sammy, diba nga sabi satin ni Silver, magkahiwalay silang lumaking magkapatid. Kaya nga diba, di natin inexpect na may kambal na babae pala yang si Silver. Tsaka lang natin nalaman nung nagtransfer yang si Gold sa University natin." Alorie explained to her friend while embracing her boyfriend.
"Oo nga pala noh. Pero malay mo nakapunta ka na pala dun, di mo lang maalala ngayon pero for sure kapag nakarating na tayo sa province mafafamiliar mo ang lugar especially that we're staying to your rest house." Sagot naman ni Sammy.
Wala nang naging imik si Silver sa usapan dahil abala ito sa pakikinig ng musika sa cellphone nito. While Gold remained to be silent and just nodding sometimes whenever her friends questioning her.
They spent almost ten hours on their trip and finally they were already on the downtown of the province but they were not yet at the exact place where they'll stay in. It's already six in the afternoon that's why the surroundings are kinda dusky and the sky is getting dark already. The place was eaten by silence but because they are there, birds and other animals rout out of place. They keep on screaming and shouting with mirth and they don't care.
The road was so gloomy, secluded and very dense in place. Only the yellow light that comes from their vehicle brings clarity to the road.
"Silver, malayo pa ba tayo sa rest house nyo?" Tristan looks so impatient while he asked.
"We're almost there, it will just took us thirty minutes." Sagot nito sa kaniya.
"Ano ka ba Tristan, don't you trust me? I'm the genius driver here. Kaya hindi tayo maliligaw." Ani naman ni Ziggy habang patuloy pa rin sa pagmamaniobra ng manibela ng sasakyan.
"Hey, dimwit. Don't ever dare used that word 'genius' with you. Wala sayo ang salitang yan kase napakabobo mo." Ani ni Jessie sa kaniyang katabi.
"Sobra ka magsalita ah! Napakayabang mo porket ikaw ang magna cumlaude ng batch naten. Tandaan mo, pera ko ang dahilan kung ba't nakapag-aral ka sa magandang University." Pag-aangal ni Ziggy sa dalaga.
"Hoy, ako din ang dahilan kung ba't nakapasa ka! Without me, baka nasa elementary ka pa rin hanggang ngayon."
Nagpatuloy ang sumbatan ng dalawa kaya sinigawan sila ni Alorie para mapatahimik ang mga ito.
