*Friday*
I looked up at the clock to see that it almost the end of last period. I had barely listened to my art teacher because frankly, I couldn't care less about the history of 'Starry Night' by Van Gogh.
"Ok class, remember that your art homework is due Monday. Oh, and do have a good weekend!" Ms Cathrine gushed.
As the bell rang, I got up from my seat and left the room, on my way to the bus shelter.
"Oh, hey there!" I almost jumped at the sudden voice. I looked up to see Luke. "Hey" I said, faintly smiling.
"What are you doing this afternoon?" Luke asked, trying to start a conversation.
"I'm working, why?" I asked in a monotone voice. Luke frowned and scratched the back of his neck. "I was just thinking that we could hang out or something."I was puzzled as to why he wanted to hang our with me. "Why would you want to do that? It would save you some if you just ignored me like everyone else does."
"I don't want to ignore you. You seem cool, and cool people shouldn't be ignored." He chuckled.I was about to say something that I never thought I would. Words that I haven't said since primary school.
"Would you like to do something on Saturday?" I nervously asked.
Luke's smile spread from ear to ear. "Yeah, sounds great!" He replied. "You could come to mine if you want."
I shyly nodded and smiled. Our bus arrived and Luke and I walked towards it, I got on before him, and made my way to the middle of the bus as usual. Much to my surprise, he sat down next to me.
Following him, was Melanie Davis, our school's very own Regina George. Also, my worst nightmare. She stopped next to Luke and I. "Hey Lukey" she purred, placing her hand on Luke's shoulder.
"You know I was going to ask you if we could hook up tonight, but then I noticed you with that freak" she said, glaring at me as the word 'freak' rolled off her tongue. "We could have had so much fun tonight" she giggled. She began nibbling at Luke's ear. By this point, Luke looked even more repelled. He pushed her off him and growled "Piss off would you?!"
She looked taken back, but quickly scurried to the back of the bus with the rest of her friends.Luke turned back to me and made a gagging noise. "Ugh, I hate that chick!" He said. "I agree." I said, remembering all the times she teased me for not having any friends. "I swear she's like an STD with legs." He added. I giggled at his remark. Since when do I giggle?!?!
Before long, we got to my bus stop and Luke stood up to let me through. "Thanks, bye." I smiled "I'll see you tomorrow." He returned the smile and sat back down.
I walked down the street a little until I reached my house. I opened the front door to find my mother sitting on the couch with a cigarette in her hand. I scrunched up my nose at the foul smell, before making my way to room. I took off my worn, black converse and school jumper, then fell onto my bed, before I knew it, I fell into a peaceful sleep.
