"hey michael" the boy from yesterday waved to me as i walked in the classroom. "hi" i sat down next to him, "i never got your name" felt like the day moved somewhat fast yesterday.

"oh i'm Tyson but everybody calls me Ty for short" he smiled at me. "well, everybody calls me mike for short".

The door flew open but nobody walked in, "YOU CANT TALK TO ME LIKE THAT"!! Ms. Adams yelled at geniea. Her and geniea walked in slamming the door, "I DO WHATEVER I WANT"! she yelled back at her, slamming her hands on her desk. "that's it...get out"! Ms.Adams yelled at her, pointing to the door.

The room was quiet, nobody said anything. I could hear a heartbeat, that's how quiet it is in here. "UGH! I HATE YOU"! she kicked the desk forward leaving the room.

"ok...let's get started on the drill! ok"? Ms. adams smiled.

"is it ok if i sit here"? tyson asked with a tray of lunch in his hand. "sure, nobody else wants to sit near me anyway" i shrugged. "same, i tried hanging out with the popular guys but they say i'm a to annoying" he shrugged.

The cafeteria had 10 tables for everyone but only geniea and her friends get to sit up on the stage table. It's 2 little steps that lead up to a table in the front of the cafeteria where they sit and watch us below.

She watched me from her table. Staring at me and whispering to her friends. "hey, why is geniea so mean"? i whispered to tyson. "well, her and her daddy moved here like 3 years ago when her daddy became a drug lord, and she wasn't always mean, i think her father doesn't give her much attention or she took advantage of the protection she gets" he bit into his sandwich

"protection"?

"yeah man, if anyone messes with geniea she'll tell her dad and he'll get his boys to kill you or get you beat up" he shivered. "how you know"?

He gave me that 'are you serious look', "man i've been in this neighborhood for like 5 years, my daddy's cousin got shanked by one of those fools a year ago, he didn't make it" he shrugged.

Well i don't wanna get shanked by one of those fools, i don't want NO smoke.

"all i'm tryna say is, don't mess with geniea or you'll and up somewhere dead".

"bye" i waved to tyson. He lives 1 block from me so i'll just walk the rest of the way by myself. Jackie had to stay after school today so i decided to just walk with tyson.

Loud walking came from behind me. I turned seeing geniea. I walked faster, then she walked faster.I walked even faster and she walked faster. "leave me alone geniea"! i stopped, yelling at her.

"why"? she crossed her arms, looking me up and down. "why?! because i don't like you"! i yelled at her.

"calm down michael, i'm not gonna hurt you" she laughed. "how do you know my name"?

"i know everybody" she walked closer to me, "it's my job to know everyone, and everything" she rolled her neck. "ok just stay away from my geniea ok"? i ran away from her.
