The remaining losers have been meeting at the front of Bill's house as often as they could, but one day when they all walked to his front yard they saw that the for sale sign was gone. "Does this mean..." Beverly hesitantly said, "I think it does. The only thing left of Bill is gone." Stan said.
They've all been receiving letters from Bill constantly. Stan practically gets one everyday.
"I have a idea." Richie said, "Oh no, this can't be good." Ben commented, "Oh shut it." Richie crossed his arms, "Just follow me." Everyone caved in and followed Richie to go god knows where.
Richie stops in front of a graveyard, "Why are we here?" Eddie asked, "To visit someone." Richie grabbed Eddie's hand and pulled him further into the graveyard.
"Here." Richie stopped in front of a small grave.
George Elmer Denbrough
7 years old
A son, a brother, and a friend
You'll be missed"We needed to visit." Richie said as he sat down in fron of the grave, the rest of the losers sat with him. "Hi Georgie." Beverly said, "We miss you and your brother so much. I'm sorry Bill won't be able to visit you anymore." Beverly sniffed. "I wish I got to talk to you more. You seemed like a great kid." Mike said even his tough exterior was deteriorating. "I hope you're at peace Georgie. I'm sorry you went away in such a tragic way, and I'm sorry I don't visit you as much as I used to." Stan said wiping his eyes with his sleeves, "I would tell you a joke Georgie but I can't think of anything." Richie sighed, "Thats a first." Eddie whispered. "Here." Eddie said, he pulled a small flower out of the ground and placed it on his grave, "Just for you. Remember when we would go pick flowers while your big brother did homework. I will cherish those moments forever Georgie." Eddie wiped the tear that rolled down his cheek. "God, I miss him." Ben said.
Eventually one by one everyone left. Richie and Eddie were the only ones left. "I wonder what we'd be doing if Georgie hadn't passed, and if Bill didn't move." Eddie wondered out loud, "We'd probably be at Bill's house. Stan and Bill would be making love eyes at each other, you and Georgie would be crawling up me, Beverly would be smoking outside and Ben would be curled up on the floor reading, Mike would probably be drawing with Georgie, picking all the crayons for him and cleaning up his mess afterwards. I..." Richie was going to say something but he cut himself off with a unnaccepted sob. It startled himself honestly, "Oh Chee." Eddie hugged him and got as close as he could, "That all sounds lovely Rich." Eddie complimented, "But it's not real." Richie said, "None of it is. Georgie isn't here to draw with Mike or crawl around in the floor. Bill isn't here to make heart eyes with Stan, it'll never be real." Richie was sobbing, "W-we can spend a-all day dreaming about h-h-how we want life to b-be, but it'll n-never be true." Richie sadly was telling the truth. The truth no one wanted to hear. "I can't stand it anymore." Richie cried against Eddie's shoulder, "Its okay Rich... It'll be okay." Eddie played with Richie's hair until he calmed down, he knew Richie loved it when he did that.
"Was everything always this sad?" Richie asked, "Was I always this sad?" Eddie shook his head, "No, it wasn't always like this Chee." "B-But how come I can't remember a time when it wasn't like this. I can't remember when we were all together and happy. Why can't I remember." Eddie's grip got tighter around Richie, "Chee, you need to breathe for me. Can you do that?" Richie was shaking, "Eds, I just want to remember." Richie was begging by now, "Richie. I can't make you remember, you need to breathe though. Please, calm down for me." Richie nodded and tried to slow his breathing down.
Eventually he calmed down a little, "Trust me Richie, it wasn't always like this." Eddie held onto Richie's hand. "I just want to remember Eds." Richie whispered, "I know, I do too Chee."
