It was all full of blood... red crimson blood which was once part of someone. It was spilled on the cold and rough stone. Kyrin was on the floor. I had to keep my cool, I had to stay calm and collected in order to document this injury. I went up close to examine the work that the medical personnel were doing. Kyrin was sitting up slightly against the bed.
The doctor finished the stitches, then applied an ointment and attempted to bandage the wound. I wrote down everything I saw as it happened, every last detail. It was my job. I was a scribe for the royal family. I was the record keeper for everything they did. I guess you could say I knew a lot about them.
Everything that happened in this castle was documented by me. And this was the second time this week that it was a grim affair. I was beginning to dislike my job. First the death of the king and queen, now this. As far as I had heard the princess had not been seen since after the crowning ceremony. I was instructed to gather information regarding her whereabouts, which was an impossible quest.
I would have to talk to Kyrin. He was the only serf who had been in here when the incident took place. I waited for the doctors to finish. I didn't want to bother anyone.
While I waited I documented the state of the room, while the doctor talked to Kyrin. After he left, I went over to him. I saw that more and more blood was seeping through the bandage.
"Doctor! Wait!" I called the doctor again who arrived after about a litre of blood.
"His wounds are quiet serious, I need something to assist with the healing" He glanced toward me.
"Anything" I nodded my head.
"We will need a herbal remedy to help seal the wound and stop the bleeding. Can you handle that?" He requested.
"Of course I can, I could go and see an Apothecary about getting the herbal remedy. Possibly the Parsons" I suggested watching Kyrin, he was my only lead on the order to locate and find the Princess.
"Does he have Star-lock?" The Doctor inquired re-wrapping Kyrins wounds for the fifth time since I had called him back.
My eyes closed as I recalled what Wilbur had recently stocked up on, "Yes, he does."
"That's what we need to heal this young Serfs wounds, Off with you then. Go get the Star-lock" He waved me off.
I then left for the shop. Wilbur was there with his slightly wavy dirty blond hair and pristine dear blue eyes, coming closer to me. I held his hand feeling the love of his pouring through me.
"What brings such a lovely lady to my humble shop?" he asked of me.
I gave a sheepish smile having to fight to remember my real reason of being here, "Love, I need some star-lock for the serf Kyrin."
Wilbur nodded his head, "You're very lucky, I just stocked up on that. But of course you remembered." He joked playfully, lifting my dreary spirits.
Wilbur then went into the back and got the jar with black, silky flower petals. He handed me the jar tenderly being mindful not to drop it. I stared down at it tapping my fingers against the glass. A bitter sadness holding my mind hostage, "I must leave, I don't know the next time I'll see you but I know that when I do, you'll be with me in my arms," I vowed earnestly.
He only smiled nodding his head, "Then until next time, My love" He called after me as I headed off towards the castle.
I then went off to the palace to hand the doctor the star-lock petals. Guards patrolling the city streets had increased, which made the hallways of the palace busy as the roads. I made it back to the Princesses bedroom without conflict holding the jar of Star-lock.
