My body trembled as a massive shiver ran through it. Standing in front of the arch, looking into the dark, dead city, I couldn't wait to find out what secrets it held.

I turned to the others. I could tell Paz was anxious as anything to get in. She clearly had only one thing on her mind; gold.

The city was not just full of it, it was made of it.

It looked beautiful yet creepy at the same time.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" asked Paz.

"Nothing." I said, taking one last look at the incredible view. "Let's go."

We wandered through the symbolic gateway into this vast, ruined city.

There were more trees than there should have been. Every house we passed was overgrown with vines and mosses. But that hint of gold still shimmered through. Maybe if the others weren't looking, I'd grab a little piece on the way out.

I smirked to myself.

Nat walked up to a building and pulled the vines away from the wall.

"Incredible," She spoke, running her hand over some sort of writing inscribed on the wall.

"What's it say?" Mhercee asked.

Nat shrugged. "It's an ancient text. I can't read it."

"Damn, I wish Aeirah was awake. She'd be able to read it, wouldn't she?" Asked Mhercee.

"Maybe," Said Nat, considering.

"Look, as interesting as it may be, I doubt there's anything important written on that wall." I said, pulling Natalia away from it.

"He's right. We have to stay focused." Requim said.

I looked around, "Where the hell is Paz?" I asked.

"Damn it, Paz." Nat hissed, as she too realized Paz was gone.

A clunk came from within the golden house.

"I take it she's inside?" Said Mhercee, disappointed but not surprised.

"I'll get her," I said, entering through the gaping doorway of the house.

Inside was dark. It was musty and bare, but the walls glimmered a little as I moved through. The remains of wooden furniture littered the kitchen. I followed the sounds of Paz.

"Paz, what the hell do you not understand about staying in a group?" I asked as I entered the room she was in.

The noises suddenly stopped and as I came through the door she backed up into me, letting out a little yelp.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

She pointed towards the back of the room and proceeded to try and back up. "There's a fucking body!" She shuttered, moving past me and running out into the kitchen.

I smiled. A body, hm..

Curiosity drew me towards the back of the room. It was mostly dark, with just enough light coming in through the cracks in the wall to allow me to see bones.

The skeletal remains of a human body lay on the floor of this room. Posed in an awkward position, with arms bent at odd angles and the skull pointed upwards, jaw hanging open. I crouched down and took a good look at it.

"Paz, I would hardly call this a body.." I said.

I reached out and touched the skull, running my fingers gently over it's curves.
