I screamed at the top of my lungs.

My eyes flashed open as I stumbled over a log in front of me. I was panting heavily.

I'd had that dream again. Only, this time it was much clearer. The image still floated through my conscious mind.

This stone was more important than I'd thought. It was controlling the way I acted, the way I felt.

I looked around. I was surrounded by trees in the darkness of midnight. There was no sign of the others or the clearing where we had fallen asleep. I had been sleepwalking. Now how was I supposed to find my way back?

"Calm down Aierah. You're fine." I tried to comfort myself.

Then it happened again.

I saw a woman who looked a lot like me. She was older and had a fairer complexion. She was wearing a blush pink dress. The light came up revealing that the woman was standing in a cave. A daemon who reminded me of Mhercee stepped forward, dragging a large axe behind her. It made a scraping sound as it dragged along the stone floor.

She spoke to the woman in harsh whispered tones.

"No. I cannot say." The woman replied, softly.

Without a thought, the daemon raised the heavy axe above her head. She held it for a second, whispering a final word to the woman. Then she swung back and dropped the axe forcefully down on the woman. I cried out, a horrified scream, reaching forward to stop her.

I lunged out into a tree, hitting my head and snapping back to reality. I was panting and sweating again. My surroundings had changed. I had no idea where I was or how to get back to the others.

I could feel another flashback coming on. Trying to fight it was useless.

I felt the soggy ground beneath my feet and saw the fog which further distorted my reality.

This force was taking control. It controlled my body, my mind, my soul. All I could give into was a pleading pull. I desperately needed to get to that stone. That was all it let me think about. The visions lingered in my mind and my strange desires for immortality became stronger.
