The voices were muffled, like somebody wrapped my head in clothe.

"Wake the crazy bitch up!"

"Leave her be Paz"

Small hands wrapped around my throat, the nails dug into the back of my neck as I was strangled. My eyes shot open and I was blinded by the flash of light.

"Paz get off of her!" That voice was Princess Natalia!

The hands were torn from my neck, it allowed me to sit up coughing, and wheezing. I rubbed my throat sorely looking around the room at the group that I had met a few hours ago.

"Aierah" I turned to the right looking into the brown eyes of Princess Natalia.

She didn't smile at me, not even a little smile of encouragement. There was a darkness growing in her eyes, what had happened. The room lit up again making me gasp.

"Where are we?" I asked scanning the rooms jotting down everything I could see.

"You have got to be fucking kidding me..." the short one, Paz, cursed her eyes narrowing at me.

I licked my lips looking back to Natalia, "You really don't remember?" She whispered.

"No, I don't"

Mhercee the Daemoness crouched down next to Natalia, they both stared at me examining me with their eyes.

"She's unharmed, she hasn't even lost weight." The Daemoness's observation was confusing.

"She was gone for weeks, why has nothing about her changed?" Natalia turned from me to look at Mhercee.

I too, look to Mhercee my own confusion was growing. What were they talking about, Weeks? I had maybe been gone for a few hours. Mhercee shook her head rubbing her forehead.

"This isn't plausible, Humans shouldn't be able to do this. Kid, I don't think she's human"

"Wait" I laughed, "You're the one who is not human"

They both look to me once again, worry burrowed deep in their eyes.

"You've been missing for weeks Aierah. We just found you" Requim moved like a shadow or ghost behind them.

Paz stood near the middle of the room with Jaeson, they all stared at me. My head began to throb with the beginnings of a headache.

"No, No. I left only a few hours ago, remember. The Dragon?" My laughter was forced and dry.

They all turned to exchange secret glances, "Aierah listen to me, it’s been weeks since we last saw you."

My jaw must have hit the floor, Natalia had such an honest look on her face. She was not lying to me, but how? How had I lost such a lengthy period of time... to-to just nothing!

Jaeson moved forward holding in his hand what looked like a melted glob of metal that had been moulded. He held it on the end of a spike, I looked from the object to him. My body trembled with fear, what was happening to me?

"Aierah, the clue told us to find something we had left behind. The clue led us to you, and you led us to" he tilted the metal chunk's flat side to me, "this. Do you understand what’s written here?" He spoke in a low soft tone.

My eyes squinted to see it clearly, they scanned over everything and what I found made me frown deeply. I looked up at everybody, "What do you mean? Can't you read this, it’s written in plain English?" I scoffed.

Natalia's brows furrowed as she scowled at me, never had I seen her make such a face.

"Yo Princess, your bookworms broken" Paz shouted examining the treasure strewn around the room.
