Prom

Caroline's POV
     It has been 3 and a half years since the dinner with the Lockwoods. I haven't spoke to Tyler and his mother since then. I haven't seen or spoke to Klaus either since that morning, I heard that he left town for a while. Elijah and I talk at least once a month for lunch. Kol is an idiot, he acts like a 2 year old. Bekah, Kat, Bonnie and I graduate next week. Elena I haven't spoke to since she and Stefan broke it off. Today is Prom. Bekah and I are getting everything ready today, Matt, Stefan, Elijah and Kol are helping us.

   Anyway, I woke up and put on my strapless green dress with my green heels. I went downstairs and to the kitchen. I got some coffee and sat down. I got a text from Bekah.

B- Hey, Stefan and I are at the gym putting things up. When are you coming?

C- Sorry, woke up late. I'm coming right now.

B- It's fine. Also, want to have a sleepover at my house tonight after prom? I also have someone for you to meet.

C- Sure.

B- Great. See u soon.

   I put my phone away and ran upstairs. I got my purse and car keys. I then headed downstairs and out to my car. I got in and drove to the school. I arrived at the school, and walked to the gym. I seen Stefan, Bekah, Matt, Kol and Elijah setting things up.

   I said, " Bekah. What else needs to be done?"

   She came over and said, " The boys need to string the lights up and we have to set up some of the tables."

   I nodded and we started setting up tables. Two hours later, everything was perfect. We headed out to our cars, I said, " Beks, I have to pick up my dress and my bag and I'll meet you at your house. So we can get ready there."

   She said, " That's fine."

   She then got in her car and left. Elijah came over to me and said, " How about we go to the grill and talk?"

   I said, " Sure."

   He nodded and got in his car and I got in mine and drove to the grill. We arrived at the grill and then walked in and sat at a table. We ordered lunch and I said, " So, Elijah what do you want to talk about?"

   He said, " I was wondering if Katerina has a date for prom?"

   I giggled and said, " Is Elijah Mikaelson nervous about asking Katerina to Prom? She doesn't, she was waiting for you to ask her."

     He smiled and said, " I didn't realize she was waiting for me to ask her."

   I said, " She was because she called dibs on you when she first seen you here in the grill, when you first moved here."

   He said, " Dibs? What does that mean?"

   I rolled my eyes and said, " It means she basically reserved you for her, so no one else can get to you."

     He nodded and our food came. We ate and when we were finished, he pulled his wallet out. I put my hand in his arm to stop him. I gave my credit card to the waiter to pay for the food. He said, " I was going to pay, Caroline."

   I said, " Well, you pay most of the time. Why not let me pay for once?"

  He said, " I'm a gentleman. A lady shouldn't always have to pay. The man should do the gentlemanly thing and offer or just pay."

   I rolled my eyes and he gave me a questioning look. I said, " Sometimes a lady is allowed to pay for things, Elijah."

   He nodded and the waiter gave me my credit card back. We then headed out to our cars. He  insisted on walking me to my car. I said, " When are you going to ask Kat to prom?"
