Birthday Present

Caroline's POV
I woke up to someone knocking on my door. I got up and walked through my apartment to the door. I opened the door, and there stood my 6 best friends. Kat, Bonnie, Stefan, Damon, Marcel and Davina. They had balloons and doughnuts. They all said in unison, " Happy Birthday!"

I said, " I didn't know you were coming."

Kat said, " We wanted it to be a surprise."

Damon held up 2 bourbon bottles and said, " You only turn 21 once, right!"

I laughed and stepped aside for them to come in. They came in and looked around my apartment. They all, then seen the wall sized window that overlooks the quarter. Kat said, " Care, amazing view!"

I said, " I know. Well, make yourselves comfortable. I am going to get dressed, be back in about ten minutes."

I then walked to my room and put on my blue dress with my blue heels. Someone knocked on my bedroom door, I said, " Come in."

I finished up putting on my heels. The person opened the door, it was Davina. She shut the door. I said, " What's up Davina?"

She handed me a black velvet box. She then said, " He told me to give you this."

I opened the box and it was rolled up paper. I unrolled the paper, and it was a drawing of me and a horse. He knew how much I loves horses. In the corner of the paper, it read,

Happy Birthday, my love!

I had a few tears trickle down my cheeks. I can't believe he remembered my birthday. Davina said, " He's sorry that he couldn't give it to you, himself. He wanted to, but he couldn't."

I wiped the tears and smiled. I said, " I know, and thank you."

She nods and I then put the drawing on my nightstand beside my bed. I then opened the bedroom and door, and Davina and I walked out to the kitchen. I seen Kat getting coffee, Damon, Stefan, Marcel were talking, Bonnie was drinking her coffee and eating doughnuts. I grabbed some coffee and a doughnut and sat down at the island. Davina ate a doughnut and sat down.

Stefan said, " So, how come you never told me about Marcel?"

I said, " I didn't think it was important. I only met him last year, when I came to New Orleans with Bekah, Davina and Klaus. Klaus had introduced me to him."

Damon spit out his coffee and said, " What?! Klaus introduced you to him. You never thought to tell us!"

I bit my lip and said, " I didn't because I knew you and Stefan would go all over protective brother about me being friends with my boyfriends friends. Especially, since my boyfriend up and left me heartbroken, all because he wanted to protect me!"

Stefan said, " Boyfriend?!"

    I bit my lip. I forgot they didn't know about Klaus and me, only Davina and Marcel knew. Damon said, " Wait, you said that your boyfriend up and left. It was Klaus wasn't it?"

    I said, " Yes. It was Klaus."

   Kat squealed and said, " I knew it!! I figured you both were getting too friendly with each other!!"

     I said, " Could we just drop it?"

     They nodded and Bonnie said, " Let's go shopping!"

   The boys groaned and Kat, Davina and I squealed. Marcel said, " I forgot, I have something to do. Bye!"

    He then got up, I said, " Marcy! Sit your butt back down."
