"Maya, you are looking awfully attractive today-"
The brunette finished pulling her hair back into a tight ponytail and raised a hand to cover her spastic friend's mouth. "No, I will not have sex with you Stiles."
His mouth was agape, feigning surprise. "How could you even think that I, your childhood best friend, would ever ask you something like that?" Maya met the statement with a blank look, "Okay fine, I may have been about to ask you that...I don't want to die!"
With a roll of the mermaid's dark eyes, Maya bent down to work on stretching out her legs. "No one is killing virgins, you dork. And besides, even if losing your virginity could grant you some mystical form of protection - you're like my brother Stilinski. It would just be too weird."
Rather than linger and let the boy continue bringing up his asinine idea that the virgins of Beacon Hills were on the chopping block, Maya made a hasty escaped over to where Scott was standing. Her wolfy friend was failing to hide amusement after having clearly overhearing the conversation. The mermaid lightly punched his arm with a scowl.
"Laugh it up, asshole." She poked her tongue out at him. "Just wait until he's asking you to take his v-card."
Scott breathed out a laugh, "I don't know if he's ready for asking me yet. Stiles is still reeling from Danny's fake offer to sleep with him."
"If he's that desperate, I know a-" The sentence was cut short after Maya caught sight of Ethan waving her over. "Pimping out Stiles will have to wait. Apparently I'm needed elsewhere."
Friendship with the twin newcomers of Beacon Hills was best described as strange. They were nice, a bit on the flirtatious side at times, but extremely mysterious. In the short time Maya had grown close to them, the girl could count on her fingers the personal information learned about the two boys. And that didn't mean stuff like favorite colors or go-to movie theater candy - it was the stuff like where'd they grown up, the places they had lived in before moving here, what their parents were like. Maya had always just assumed they were private and that such information would be shared when there was more trust formed. Never had it crossed the Williams' mind that these boys were lying to her about their true identities.
"Ready to lose?" Aiden gave the girl a lopsided grip and threw an arm around her shoulders.
Flinging the arm back just as quickly as it had arrived, Maya let out a small laugh. "My ego says no, however my lungs say you're both going to kick my ass today."
Ethan couldn't help but to laugh as well, "Don't worry, I'll come back for you on my victory lap and call an ambulance."
The other twin was much more flirtatious in his response. "How about I give you the kiss of life?" Aiden suggested, ducking his head down closer to Maya.
The mermaid placed her palm over his face and shoved it away from her, "In your dreams."
"Trust me, it happens frequently in my dreams..." Aiden winked with a smug grin.
Maya was too busy pretending to vomit as the trio walked towards the front to notice the strange shift in mood when they passed Isaac. Realization hit the werewolf hard and fast as all three teens walked away from where he had been tying his shoe. The shrill whistle had sounded off before Isaac could lunge at the Alphas - who were now jogging at the front of the pack with Maya sandwiched between them. Before he could make his move, Scott grabbed onto his arm.
"Isaac?"
"It's them." His eyes drifting over to where an oblivious Maya was running alongside them and the sandy haired teen felt his blood boil. Isaac wrenched his arm out of Scott's grasp and took off sprinting, determined to stop the twins before they hurt anyone else.
