The Protector Of All [ Editing ]

Chapter 8

I closed my eyes until I drifted away. I gasped and sat up . It was the middle of the night . I saw Atticus sitting down looking at the sky .
" Hey ", I said .
" Oh hi you woke up late ", Atticus responded .
" How long have I been asleep ", I asked .
" About ten hours ", he said .
" Wow ", I said in astonishment .
" Here " , he told me .
He gave me a bottle of water and a package of expired crackers .
" Where did you get these !", I asked .
" I found them in empty houses ", he said .
" Thanks ", I said .
" No problem " , he said .

I sat right next to him and ate the food . I looked at the sky as well . He glanced at me and smiled . I smiled back. A screaming sound was heard . We looked at the window , we saw a group of people running away from the Silence . One by one they were by the silence except one . It was a slender tall , man . I quickly went outside and said " In here ! "
The person followed me and we shut the hospital door . Banging and screeching stopped suddenly.
" Thanks " he said. Ruffling his brown hair.
"No problem", I puffed.
We waited till my parents were awake. I introduced myself to him and introduced Atticus.
When they were awake they let him stay here. The man was Octavian Wills and he's eighteen years old. He helped us steal food from abandoned places. He was now a part of the family. He told us about life. His parents died when he was younger and he lived with his grand parents. His grandparents and brother died when the invasion occurred.
We were happy that we have him here .

Two days later .....
The Silence came back, but with more of them.
" Get Atticus , Promise , and Octavian !!", Mom told me . " Dad and I will get the supplies " , she said . I found the others and we went to the place where mom and dad were. I was astonished , I saw them holding hands while pushing the door back .
" GOO !!! " , They said .
" No I won't leave you " I yelled .
"Mommy !! ", Promise said crying .
"We love you and goodbye sweet hearts.", they said. They had tears on their eyes.
The Silence were about to break the door . " We have to go ", Atticus said in a trembling voice .
" Noo I won't ", I cried , but Octavian pulled my arm and ran to the back door.

NOVA'S Mom P.O.V.
Jave and I were getting the food , but the door was about to break open.
" We need to close the doors I said to Jave. ", I said. He nodded and we pushed our bodies to the door. I knew we wouldn't survive. I looked at Jave he knew to we would die. I grabbed his hand and said " I love you." A tear ran down my eyes . Nova my daughter saw us .
" GOO !!! " , Jave and I said.
" No I won't leave you " she yelled.
"Mommy !! ", Promise said crying .
"We love you and good bye sweet heart." I said.
The Silence were about to break the door . " We have to go ", Atticus said in a trembling voice .
" Noo I won't ", She cried. I looked at Octavian . And he nodded . He grabbed Nova 's hand and went to the back door. We couldn't hold it longer . The door opened and we fell on the ground. A giant hand grabbed my head. It's claws pierced my head. I looked at the other side and saw Jave already..... Dead... His hand was out and I grabbed it i whispered to him who is already dead " I... Love... You" I saw a blade near my throat and then *slit*.......

Back to Nova.

He put a huge cinder block in front of the back door . The Silence were screeching and banging on the door . I stood still.
"Come on let's go ", Octavian yelled. He grabbed my hand and pulled me . We followed him to this old abandoned house with a garden behind it . He knocked the door .
He said , " Keen, open the door!"
The door opened we went inside the house .
" Seal it quickly !", he yelled .
The door was sealed .
"Phew", he said . I pushed Octavian and ran to the garden . I sat in the garden crying my heart out . Atticus and Promise came and sat down right next to me . Atticus put his hand around me and Promise hugged me. They cried as well . We stopped crying after a few minutes. We got up and I asked Octavian for a knife and a piece of stone . He brought the things and I grabbed them . I carved my parents name on it and a wrote description . We put the stone near a rose bush . It said " Rohanna and Jave Conley died . R.I.P 3976 -4020 (44) and 3974-4020 (46).
" Rest in peace , Mom and Dad ",I said .
