Ink sat in the wagon as he crossed the border into Dream's kingdom. An hour into the ride he had blocked out Blue entirely. The skeleton was mesmerized by Dust, one of Nightmare's followers. It left a sickening feeling deep in Ink's soul. They had gone to investigate, not fall in love. Maybe if the crush was someone not an enemy, Ink would have cheered them on. But Nightmare's kingdom was close to war with Dream's.

"Hey Ink, have you been listening at all?" Ink glanced toward Blue before faking a smile. He nodded as he observed the castle gates before them. He was quite glad the ride was merely a few hours. Anymore and he may have leapt from the cart head first.

Exiting the cart, he stretched slightly before leaving Blue behind. He was focused on the new face. Something had been off about the skeleton. He could feel magic from within Classic, but it should have been impossible. Magic was only given to noble and royal blood. The appearance of Classic was shocking as well. The markings were ancient, forgotten. Tattoos were symbols of a bloodline, or family name.

Ink hurried into the castle, ignoring the shouts of numerous maids. He had nearly knocked a few over. He was determined to figure out the meaning. Classic was a mystery and it bothered Ink knowing Nightmare showed slight interest in something. He only cared about beneficial things. If it made no difference in his power standing, it was thrown away. But even Ink understood the air between the two. There was a romance blossoming, which only confused Ink more.

Voices could be heard from the meeting chambers, Ink throwing the doors open. Dream widened his eyes as he stood slightly. He waved off the meeting before giving a concerned look. He could tell something was bothering Ink by his constant pacing.

"Welcome back Ink. How did the investigation go?" Dream's voice eased some of the edge as Ink sighed heavily. He stumbled into a seat before looking away.

"We found the men. They were killed in Nightmare's land, but he allowed us to retrieve their bones." Dream nodded as he frowned slightly.

"It was a mission success, yet you seem displeased. Why is that?"

"You know you brother Nightmare better than anyone. Can he fall in love?" The question shocked Dream as he shook his head. His gaze was avoiding Ink, but he spoke in a calm manner.

"My brother lacks the room in his heart to feel positive emotions. What has caused you to ask such things?" Ink hesitated before changing the subject.

"There was a new face among his people. He was close to them, too close. They could beat a goddess in beauty, but that wasn't the issue. Have you ever seen petal markings beside the left eye?" Dream's face dropped as he narrowed his sockets.

"Do NOT fool around, understood? This is a terrible prank to pull Ink."

"It is not a prank my king. Nightmare has someone seated beside him who bears those markings. They house magic unfamiliar to me. I could not locate which magic they possessed, but knew it was potent." Ink observed Dream drop to his seat as he rested his head in his hands.

"This can not be... It's impossible."

"What is impossible Dream?" He watched his King meet his gaze. Fear was layered among his emotions as he trembled slightly.

"The cursed bloodline still live!"

"Cursed what?" Ink fell silent as he tried to piece the past in his mind. He had never heard of a cursed bloodline in all his life.

"The cursed bloodline was known as Undertale, a kingdom run by witches. Their magic was truly a gift, but dangerous. My father had sought to destroy that kingdom, but passed on before he could. When me and Nightmare broke off, I finished my father's work. I raided their lands, but not everything went as planned that day. We wanted their plants, potions, even their souls to harness the power. Their magic was blessed. I had seen first hand as a young lad brought his parent back to life only to watch them die once more. We believed they all had passed."

"If you killed them, there was no way to harness their souls. Did you retrieve any form of plant life or potions?" Dream shook his head as he sighed lightly.

"Their souls did not vanished as soon as death had struck them. When they passed on, magic coated their body as if preserving them for a short time. I had tried to grab a soul, but the moment my fingers met the soul, it shattered. They all had been forced to live with a curse enveloping their whole being. If ever someone was close enough to discover their secrets, they would die without notice. It would be instantaneous. As for the plant life, they burned all the fields. There was nothing left after the carnage."

"Are they truly as dangerous as you say?" There was a long pause before tears raced to Dream's eyes.

"That day I entered with a hundred thousand men. In less than an hour more than half was slaughtered. They were a small kingdom, but dealt a heavy blow to my army. Good men died that day. If my brother knows the secrets of the skeleton and uses him against us, I'm not sure we can win. He is a wave of destruction that is created to bring an end. They were considered cursed for a good reason. Wherever they walked, nothing remained. They are monsters." Ink nodded slowly as he leaned back in his seat. He hated seeing the king so distraught, but was unsure what to do. Classic hadn't seemed dangerous in the slightest.

"Why not invite him to this castle and capture him?" Blue's voice drew all eyes as he smiled maniacally. For once Ink feared the cute skeleton.

"How would you presume we do such an action? Inviting him would bring one of Nightmare's men with him."

"Blue has a point Dream. Nightmare won't come himself due to his duties. From what I have found, Classic is trusting of most. Show no ill will and he is gullible. We can drug him and subdue the guard sent to protect him. If we have him in our hands, maybe we can tap into his bloodlines power and sway him to our side. I can tell he is willingly remaining by Nightmare's side, so maybe taking control will be better. With him as our weapon, we can change the tides." Dream hesitated as he contemplated the actions. Ink could see the conflict, but felt a smile race over his expression as Dream nodded slowly.

"If you believe this will work, we shall try it. Send the letter out tomorrow morning for a meeting at noon." Neither said another word as Dream rose from his chair. He trailed from the room, his voice low so no one heard him as he spoke. "Forgive me brother. If you truly have found love, do not hold this against me. One must do what he has to in order to come out on top. You taught me that only the cruel shall remain victorious!"

Sorry for the shorter chapter! This chapter was mostly about Dream, so hope you enjoyed. The next chapter is more of a cute chapter with Classic and Nightmare spending some personal time! #BondingSession<3
