About a hundredth day after we parted
Life hasn't been sorted.
And here I am once again
watering the remains of our love
wearing a distressed glove.
The spikes and roughness made it harder to clean
the sparks from from within.
I wonder, where have you been?As the transparent liquid touches the soil
my heart brings to broil.
The waiting opened so many fears
Has it been a thousand light years?
The piece of you, that you left me
isn't enough to make me happy.
What is taking you so long?
Why does this feels so wrong?Come back to save a life
I'll put down the knife.
Growing a plant isn't easy you know?
My hands are wounded just for this to grow.
"I'll come back after the last leaf falls" you said
And then gave me the seed.
I planted it and watch it grow for days and nights
While my whole heart shatters
I never realized I was growing a cactus.
