🎶Now you're all in the past ~ Dua Lipa

And so the inevitable split happened.

In a matter of weeks, The Stars of the Future had officially been disband.

Refugio initially wanted us to keep the band name and just have Eden and Jax replaced, but I spoke against it.

The Stars of the Future was Jax's creation, and since he was no longer a part of it, I wanted nothing to do with it. I wasn't going to use it to boost my own career. The last thing I wanted was for people to start thinking I'd used Jax's band to benefit myself. So, I opted to keep things simple—focus on my work, and let the past be the past.

A few days later, the album we'd been working on was finally released. Although it didn't carry 'The Stars of the Future' name, all the band members were credited individually. The album was also a huge success. Though some people speculated that its popularity was partly fueled by the drama surrounding us. And I couldn't deny it—the gossip and drama certainly had a way of keeping people interested.

But speaking of drama, things heated up again not long after the album's release.

Jax took to his X page to post an announcement: he had been offered a record deal by a reputable label to pursue a solo career. In his post, he wrote how glad he was that his talents were finally recognized, and how, despite being "used and misled" by people he'd worked with in the past, he was ready to build an "even better and stronger music career."

It didn't take a genius to figure out who he was talking about. The insinuations stung to be honest, but I stayed quiet. I had no desire to fuel the fire. But Carlos? Carlos wasn't having it.

He hopped onto his own X page and fired back, criticizing Jax for leaving the band instead of sitting down and talking things out "like mature adults." His words, not mine. And as if that wasn't enough, Carlos made it crystal clear that Jax owed a lot of his success to me. If I hadn't accepted them to perform with me at Originally Afro-Mex during our early days, Jax wouldn't have had the exposure that led to his record deal.

It was messy. And just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, Eden joined the fray, of course siding with Jax. She posted something cryptic—something about loyalty and trust—and once again defended him. No surprise there.

Fans devoured the drama like it was their daily entertainment fix, with everyone taking sides and debating who was at fault.

Through it all, I stayed out of it. I wanted no part in the chaos. My focus was on my music. That's what mattered most to me, and honestly, it was the only thing that helped me keep my sanity intact.

Today was no different.

It was a quiet Saturday afternoon, and I was sitting on the balcony of my penthouse, working on a new song. The faint hum of traffic below mixed with the gentle strumming of my guitar as I jotted down some lyrics.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed, and I glanced down to see a video call coming in.

Shaun.

Without a hint of hesitation, I answered. His face popped up on the screen, all smiles.

"There's my favourite guitarist." Shaun's voice crackled through the speaker.
