Waking up to Kenny shaking me in his arms makes me feel like the little girl i used to be. Since Kenny is only 24 years old, he still treats me like I’m still his little baby sister.

“Hey there,” Kenny said softly, “how are you feeling?”

    “I feel better,” I said.

    “We’re here,” he said calmly.

I took off the shirts on my head, then I looked ahead of us. I saw a small cave. I looked very confused.

We walked inside, then I saw a set of red, dark stairs going down. He took me underground with everyone else, then Kenny set me down on my feet and we walked.

Immediately we went walked into a tiled, dry walled, house like cave. There were painting, fire lit lights everywhere, and it was just like a modern house. Kenny was high-fiving others, along with Ken, but they all just stared at me, Marcus, and my mother. I kept my head low, but I felt a cold, strong hand grab my arm. I was yanked over to the side. A vampire boy looked at me, with his long fangs and pale skin, with bright purple eyes.

“Ken brought home dinner,” he said as he licked his lips.

Out of nowhere, Ken came up behind me, and held me by the sides, then yanked me backwards, then in a split second, he jumped up and kicked the boy in the chest, and sent him flying across the room.

Kenny let out a loud hiss, and bared his fangs. I have never seen Ken this protective before. His eyes were bloodshot red.

Other vampires looked at us, and they were surprised to see what he just did.

“Ken,” a woman vampire said. She walked up to him, and Ken calmed down.

She was old enough to be his mother...maybe...I can’t tell her age.

Ken took a bow, then spoke. “Sorry Elder Vein,” he said, “I’m awfully protective of this girl.”

Everyone was silent, to hear why Ken kicked him. Other vampires helped up the other vampire boy.

Elder Vein looked at me, and walked around me. My head was low, then he put an old wrinkled finger with long, bright red nails. “Ken, would you hurt me if I dared to harm this innocent human,” she asked.

Ken sighed. “If I had to, yes Ma’am.” Ken put his head down and held onto his wrists.

There were snickers around the room.

The elder looked at me, and all I could see was a fierce look. “What’s your name little lady,” she asked with a stern look.

    “Jenny,” I said, “J-Jenny Berns.”

“Jenny Berns,” she asked, “ah, so you are the little sister of one of our strongest fighters, Kenny Berns.”
