A week had passed since that night. I thought things would be different, but in reality, nothings changed.

Except one thing. I'm always in that treehouse. When I'm at home, at school, or in town, my mind is ever wandering back to the space under the stars. The space with him.

But it never lasts long. After all, there's always something shitty to drag me back down to this hellhole.

I'm walking through the corridor at school one day, and notice an exciting buzz throughout the air. I overhear a passing group's conversation:

"Can't wait... Oikawa... Karasuno... match."

I can only make out a few words, but it immediately becomes obvious what's going on. The boy's volleyball team is having a home match after school. How could I forget, it's been the topic of every coversation for a week. Guess I haven't been paying much attention lately.

Usually, I wouldn't give two shits about what goes on at school. But for some reason, part of me wants to go.

But why? Guess it wouldn't hurt to take a peak...

~~~after school, at the gym~~~
School ended less than 10 minutes ago, and yet the gym is already packed with students (mostly fangirls).
My eyes immediately fall onto him, he's on the court practicing his serves. He lifts the ball high in the air then jumps to hit it, and it bounces against the other side, echoing throughout the gym.
I'm actually impressed.
I end up staying to watch the entire match, becoming mesmerised with the players movements as they rush tirelessly across the court.
Each time Oikawa's team scored a point, the crowd would erupt with cheers. It was an atmosphere I wasnt used to.
Eventually, after losing one set and winning another, Oikawa tossed the ball, and his partner spiked it down, winning them the match point. I found myself cheering along with the others, genuinely into it.
Oikawa and the rest of the team turned to the crowd to thank us for watching, and that's when our eyes met.
He looked confused for a second, then gave me a big grin.
Goddamn it. I shouldnt have come.
I turn away in embarrassment, and leave the gym, regretting coming in the first place.
I had almost made it out of school when I heard a distance voice behind me, getting closer and closer.
"Y/N! Y/N! Wait up!"
I felt a pull on the back of my sweater, and turned to look at the panying guy. I thought he would think I was being wierd, coming to see him, but to my surprise he seemed please.
He quickly catches his breath.
"Did you see me out there? I'm so glad you came!"
He looked genuinely happy.
"I- I didnt come to see you play idiot. I just thought, we should do more stuff for the art project. I mean, we haven't done anything for a week..."
My voices trails off, and I feel like Oikawa knows it's a lie. But if he does, he doesnt show it.
"Yeah, your right! It's your turn, after all."
"My turn?" I look at him confused.
"Yup! I took you somewhere last time, so now you have to take me somewhere. It's only fair!"
Oikawa stuck his tongue out at me. I wanted to argue back, but I realise he's right. But where would I take him...
"Is there any place that's meaningful to you? A place that makes you feel, well, 'alive'."
I think for a second, and one place comes to mind.
"Yeah, I do have somewhere we could go. But, it's nowhere near as special as your treehouse."
Oikawa takes both my hands in his, and looks me in the eyes.
"If its special to you, then it's special to me."
We stand in that position for what feels like too long, before someone started shouting at us. We break apart suddenly, and look over to see the rest of the team coming over to Oikawa.
"Sorry, I gotta go. I'll get changed outta this stinky kit, then we can go to that place you said."
"I, wha-"
But before I could object, he had already run back to the rest of the team. He has a habit of leaving me mid sentance.
I stand there for about 10 minutes, as all the other people who cane to the game flow out the school gates like water, some happy, some sad.
Finally, after all other students had left, Oikawa abounds towards me excitedly, dressed back in his school uniform.
"Do you have the book and camera?"
"Yeah." I replied, and began walking ahead of him. He trailed slightly behind me, like a dog. An annoying dog.
I cant believe I'm taking him to that place. The one place I've never shown anyone.
