"Luz! Luz? Dónde la niña?"

Luz was too focused to hear the calls of her mother. All she could hear is the shriek of the mouse she pinned.

Hunting has never been a kittypet favorite, but after watching all of those movies of the two-legs survival, she thought it was a good idea.

Many believed hunting was just a sport and was never a need of survival. Although Luz believed there was much more than just pinning prey and setting it free.

Unfourtunately, her mother noticed her in the yard, staring her down.

"Luz, what are you doing?!" Cami asked, sitting next to her kit.

"Mami! I caught a mouse." Luz gleamed, her paws laid on the gray fur.

"Luz get away from that thing, you could get diseases!"

Cami lifted Luz's paw off of the mouse as it scurried into the bushes.

"Mom....it's gone now.." Luz replied.

"Good. It's just...did you here what happened to Rowan?" Cami pondered.

Luz rolled her eyes. Every single time Luz would complain that the two-legs' food was so bland and ordinary, her mother would always bring up Rowan. Onbiously she has many things against this. One, Rowan hunted a bat, not a mouse. Two, Rowan is even more than 17 years old, he shouldn't even be alive at this point.

Even though she would argue this points, all her mother replies is "I'm only trying to protect you.."

"Just come back inside." Cami said, walking through the tiny pet door/

Luz followed along, getting a glimpse of the vibrant forest once last time.

She squished into the house, her puffy brown fur shining in the light. Her glistening brown eyes stared at her bed as she laid in the center. Her paws were splashed with light brown, as if she rose from the waters as it stretched all over her tail.

Luz stared at the small, ball shaped toy, patting with her back paws. She would always try to fling it as far as she can, but she wasn't in the mood currently.

She noticed her mother was limping oddly, staring at the two-legs passing by.

"Mami, you okay?" Luz asked, appraising her.

"I'm fine, I-"

The taller two-leg would set a box in front of Cami. Those jail cages meant for transport always brought fear to her. They were the entire opposite of yay you're going to be fixed. No wonder why cats feared them.

Cami walked into the cage, setting down as Luz watched them leave.

The two-leg yelled something before leaving the twolegplace.

Luz just laid there, thoughts and questions filling her head.

What's going on? Why is this happening? What's wrong with mom?
