"Ow!"

The call of a nearby she-cat pried Luz's eyes open as she took a glance of a river near her.

Grumpily, she took notices of the group of kits sitting in the area, they seemed to be playing.

Luz crawled closer towards the group, getting a better glimpse of the area.

Is those collarless ones, are they from the same bunch? Are there more?

Although her questions faded as she took notice of a blue she-cat apprentice with a dawning light blue nose streak, face drowning in the water as she lies in defeat.

Next to her, another she-cat apprentice with an amber brown coat. She seemed to be almost Siamese as her body was covered in light brown fur in the shape of a cat jacket.

A light green star glazed across her chest, the same color of her stuffs near her long, tipped ears above her gold eyes.

A smirked forced from the brown cat's face as she pats her paw onto the frail blue furred she-cat.

"Willowpaw is wasting our time again." The she-cat laughed, her tail waving in a curled shaped.

"No. I-"

Willowpaw was interrupted by A rose she-cat's splash of water. The she-cat had narrow eyes glazed with grayish-blue eyes.

The cats nearby laughed as Willowpaw struggled to set her fur straight.

Finally a young warrior walked by, "Now y'all keep quite, we need to get back to the clan." He hissed.

"Okay Mr. Silverfur, just keep an eye on the 'kittypet' while we head back, don't want to loose a cat now." The rose she-cat joked, chuckling.

The way they she said kittypet confused Luz. She thought everyone knew the kittypet life was amazing. No need to risk death, no possibly way of easy death, death, it's all just death really.

Getting too distracted, Luz's paw leaned onto a twig of the bush, making an ambiance towards the leaving cats.

The brown cat paused, turning around as she stared into the forest.

"Amitypaw?" Called the rose she-cat. "You good?"

"I'm fine. Just catch up with Twigpaw." Amitypaw replied, referencing their third close friend.

The she-cat nodded, running off into the autumn leaves of Leafall.

Amitypaw soon left into the forest as well, but at a particular slow pace.

Luz didn't mind it, maybe she was a slowpoke who wanted a better image of herself.

Or at least that's what Luz thought.

Quietly she dropped onto the lower elevation where they originally were, stepping near a stream split into two, one filled to the brim with pebbles and sand.

The water was glistening, she has never seen water like this before. Usually the ponds near her were dim and filled with weird thin white tree pieces that were oddly rectangular.

She shook her head, maybe this could be my first fishing lesson, Luz, the ultimate fisher! She  thought, fantasizing about Greatheart, the main character of her favorite movie. She was waiting for even the slightest change of color to peer in-front of her.

Her paws drenched into the lake, missing a goldfish by it's fin.

Silently anger and frustration covered her face as she sighs, "Another go." She told herself.

Although there wouldn't be a second try. All Luz saw was a dash of green before being pinned to the ground.

"I knew it!" She said in confidence.

Her grin grew larger staring at Luz's panicked face.

But Luz didn't know what to do, her claws won't be growing back in a moon after trimming time.

She tried to push Amitypaw off, only ending up with her neck threateningly surrounding by Amitypaw's claws.

"Stay! You have to suffer the consequences, no matter whether you're a lazy old kittypet or not." She hissed.

"Wait! I didn't know this was your's. I thought we all shared the wilderness...we're both cats you know." Luz trembled.

Amitypaw scuffed, her smirked straightened. "You kittypets think you got it all under control, don't you."

Luz looked back at the ground, a bit embarrassed.

"Well you don't. We don't eat as much as we want. We RESPECT hunting. We are even more agile and respect Starclan above while you all play pretend." She hissed.

"Well-"

"There is no well." She hissed. "You're lucky you got a brief moment of time before I called back the Deputy."

"Wait, don-"

In the smallest moment, a gray cat grabbed Luz's neck, dragging her from below Amitypaw's grip.

She would set Luz down beside her, ending with the yell of, "Run!"

Luz's ears perked up as Amitypaw let out a loud hiss, leaping towards Luz.

"I'm not dying!" Luz called, running away.

Her head was straight forwards as her fur fling back, waving to the rhythm of the wind. Her silent toe beans slide from the grass and fall back towards the ground.

Slowly, Luz recognized the she-cat, it's the same one from yesterday, her head ringed.

But there was no time to stop, only  to run.

She could feel the millions of cats trying to track her down, grass flailing, the ground shaking, it's as if they want to catch her.

Caught up in running, she almost lost the she-cat, following her into a small, abandoned 'nest'.

The door would close as Luz heard the sheer anger of the calls from the clan cats, waiting for them to fade away so she could have time to relax.
