*Carlos*

This was the second time he's actually allowed me to see him cry. But this time he actually needed me and didn't push away. I held him in my arms as we sat in the police station and the sun was now starting to rise. Tonio had told the police everything and even showed the proof of it, his body was a canvas with scars and discolored bruises. How was he still a cheerleader? He probably has like three broken ribs.

Two hours later my mom appeared and told the police that Tonio could stay with us until they finish their "Job". They let him go but we had to take him to the hospital to get him checked out. His nose was broken and those ribs... if only he knew how much this makes me want to build a barrier around us so no one can hurt him or his brother again. Tonio was limping he claimed he could get to the car on his own but when he fell I carried him no questions asked. He fought for a second then waved his white flag when he move to fast and popped something.

"Calm down, everything is going to be okay just let me do this." He looked up at me eyes red, lips dry, blood oozing from the gash on his nose ,and the baggs under his eyes made me want to kill Victor for hurting him and Tonio's father too. But they both are getting what they deserve right now.

I sat in the car hold him as I watched the police cars speed pass. I'm guessing one group went to find victor and another to arrest his Tonio's mom and stepdad for child abuse, molestation and many other things on a long list. All I could do now is make him feel safe, make him feel as if he was never alone in this. He wouldn't let me go now, he had a death grip on my arm but I wasn't complaining after many scary movie nights. I missed it and now I was happy to have it again but I couldn't get my hopes up.

Minutes passed and we soon pulled up in front of the emergency entrance my mom ran inside and came back with a nurse pushing a wheelchair. With luck I got him off my arm easy but putting him in the wheelchair was going to be a rough. Tonio hated hospitals so he kicked and screamed but that wasn't it. It was the nurse he didn't want him to touch him at all, once that was figured out he went quietly as I pushed him into the building. He needed to be checked out a soon as possible so the nurse got him to a room and hooked up with an IV.

"He needs to put this on, but I'm going to leave that to you sir. I learned my lesson the first time, a female nurse will be replacing me so don't worry." The male nurse said before leaving and my mom too before I stopped her.

"Where are you going?" I said pulling her into the hall.

"To check on Juan, Tonio's not strong enough to do it right now. He's going to be scared when he wakes up he needs someone there and you need to take care of your friend." She walked down the Hall still in her own nurse scrubs fitting in with the with all the others.

I went back into the room and closed the curten behind me. I helped him take off his shirt and slip the gown on tying it in the back. I took his black converse off one by one and sat them next to the bed, next was his pants but I didn't want him to freak out.

"Tonio I am going to take your pants off, don't freak out." I said receiving a slow shakey nod as he watched me.

I unbuckled his belt and pulled them down slowly, when done I pulled the covers up to his chin, he was tired I could tell.

"Are you okay?" I said using my thumb to wipe the dirt from his cheek to receive a nod, " Go to sleep I'll be here when you wake up." I said pushing his hair back and kissed his forehead.

I sat in the chair next to his bed and rested my head in my hands that were propped up on my knees.

"Lay with me.." A soar but familiar voice said in a whisper.
