Washington DC (Years ago)
When the interrogation turned out nowhere Andy and I were forced to release Bruce but we still have a form of compensation as the CIA agent in charge of the Russian case, Calvin Rodriquez, has asked us out to share his information relating to the opposition leader. We left as soon as our suspect does, traveling on foot to meet with the agent who is already waiting at the bar.
The bar is called Winston's Avenue, a bar that keeps a low profile except for the patrons who knew and frequent the bar, which ranges from government officials to congressmen. There are no bouncers present, maybe due to it's reclusive nature. Calvin saw us entering the bar and waved us to the bar area. "Can I have your orders please?" asked the waitress, who is wiping the glasses clean with a towel.
"I would like to have a tequila." Andy said.
"Mint Martini for me." Calvin ordered. "What about you?" he looked at me.
"Midnight blue cocktail for me." I said.
"Good idea honey." the waitress winked at me. "Tonight's Ladies Night."
"Thanks." I replied.
"So, what do you have on the target Rodriquez?" Andy asked.
"Take it easy cowboy. My informant owns this place." the CIA agent said. "But you seemed calm tonight."
"Our boss said that the guys at Langley has files on us. Care to demonstrate how much do you guys know us?" Andy said.
"The CIA's well aware that you guys have been in two major crimes : One, arresting the snobby rich guy who interfered with a foreign election and two, helped to prevent an assassination on the President's life."
"I thought guys at Langley wasn't happy about us." I say.
"Langley wants you to join us." the agent said as the waitress dropped off our drinks on the counter. "Especially you, being the daughter of the legendary White Wolf."
"My mother did warn me about you guys from Langley." I shot down his tone. "Especially when people from the CIA knows about my maternal family."
"You have an intricate web of connections that is crucial to us." that one earned a smile from me.
"Even though that is true, I'm not sure that they are willing to help you guys out." I replied.
"That guy, your suspect, seems to know you. He complied without any need for violence."
"He's... a former friend. So what? You're telling me to don't involve personal feelings? If so then don't be, I'll throw that bastard in jail myself when the evidence shows his involvement in this."
"I was expecting for that kind of answer." Calvin nodded. "Although your father owns a multi-million corporation you don't seem interested in following his footsteps."
"I'd rather kick his ass rather than handling that boring job." I said, downing a bit of the cocktail. "I have already sent his business rival to jail."
"And with thanks from a grateful nation." Calvin said. "So, about the Russian."
"Of course, that's why we're here." Andy chipped in.
"Sergei Volodin is more of a guy that has grown disillusioned with Russia's increasing authoritarian rule. He's a high profile guy because as, well, you know who he is already."
"Does spill trouble." I agreed. "Much like the problem currently happening in White Russia."
"We'll handle the White Russia problem."
"As the CIA I suppose you do." I say. "After all the FBI is more towards domestic investigations."
"So, Sergei Volodin, has disappeared a few days ago. The CIA feared the worst, but an anonymous source tells us that Volodin isn't hiding in Russia."
"Isn't hiding in Russia? Interesting." I say. "Is his passport-"
"No, haven't been confiscated yet. I guess that Russians deemed him a minor annoyance."
"How can the Russians deem him a minor annoyance when he is commonly seen on live TV?" Andy asked. "It's pretty fishy to me."
"More likely that the Russian leadership wanted him dead." I concluded. "We've done dances like these with the Russians before. But the Russians are always a step ahead of us."
"Don't say I haven't warned you. Dancing with the Russians is always a tango, a form of gamble."
"I danced with a North Korean agent and walked away. Top that?" I said with a smile. "Trust me, I've met worst guys before."
"You're a near fabulous dancer, but I can see that this is your first dance with the Russians."
"I might be able to bring in a bottle of Vodka." I smiled. "Since the Russians loved vodka."
"Practiced a Russian accent aren't you?" Calvin said. "Normally I expect more, and you surprised me."
"I've spent time in England when I was a child." I replied.
"An English rose then." Calvin smiled. "Still don't say I didn't warn you."
"We get it." Andy interjected. "I'm done with the drink." then he stood up and leaves the bar, leaving me and Calvin there.
"You better head home already." I say. "If you have any info, feel free to contact us. You know where to." Smiling I departed the bar and blended in with the busy night, riding home with my motorcycle.
