Sean Adamson wrapped an arm around my neck, hinting that he will snap my neck if I do anything stupid. He forced me to go into the living room, having ambushed me in the laundry room while James checked the kitchen area. "Isabella!" James shouted through the kitchen's archway. When he fully emerged from the kitchen his eyes went wide when he saw Sean, gun in hand and having me as his hostage.

"Your game is up agent. I have the vice president now." he said with a cocky smile. "When I kill her, the contract is complete." James aimed his gun at the assassin, his fingers hesitated on the trigger. "You pull the trigger, I will speed up the process and murder her." Breathing through the gap I shook my head at James' direction, telling him to don't do it.

"He's gonna kill you if I don't do anything." James trained his gun at him. "You do know that there are more Secret Service agents out there do you?"

"I know, and whatever the hell the helicopter was, it killed most of my men."

"You've screwed yourself up when you hired guys from the FSB." I say. "Seriously, not even the British government can save you now."

"Well... I don't care anyway. I'm going to live in Russia." he said. "In an underground bunker because the world's gonna end soon." A cold snicker was heard but it wasn't from both men, but from me.

"What are you laughing? You're going to be dead soon." Sean barked.

"You think the Russians will let you live?" I asked. "Bold move."

"She's right." James said. "The Russians consider you a loose end. Not to mention the acts of treason you have just committed."

"I never cared about being a Brit." Sean declared. "And you do know I can snap your neck now?"

"I know. I'm telling you to wake up. This Mikhail, he will just kill you when you're deemed useless to him."

"He won't." he said.

"Trust us, he will." James countered. "We've accessed your computer's drive back in MI6. It's just a few hours then we will know who Mikhail is."

"My bomb didn't wreck the computer after all." he said. "Wasted."

"Maybe." James said. "Now let the vice president go."

"Like hell I-" a batarang cuts past the silence, stabbing the hand Sean used to grab the gun. The pain caused Sean to drop the gun and his other hand loosened the grip holding my neck. Sean held his injured hand while I turned to see Bruce standing at the edge of the staircase, his arm outstretched and the cold gaze Bruce used to have as Batman. James cuffed Sean while Bruce held me in his arms before I slid down to the ground in shock.

"Are you okay?" Bruce asked, concern lacing his eyes. I gripped his arm tight, a bit shaken but I nodded at him. James pulled out the batarang from the hand where Sean is impaled and studied the projectile with care. Standing up James ticked his gaze to Bruce, which he said nothing. Marine Two landed on the grass lawn as a team of Marines poured in, M16 rifles trained on Sean Adamson.

"Eyes on the target, prepare to shoot to kill." the commander said.

"We need him alive commander." I managed to tell despite still reeling from being shaken. "Injured personnel above floor." nodding the commander dispatched three of his men upstairs before turning to me.

"We have orders to relocate every living being here to safety." the commander said.

Baltimore, Maryland (Hours later)

Sitting in a hospital suite I breathed in and out slowly while Bruce sat beside me. He told me that our daughter is being checked on by a pediatrician but I'm still worried that someone will abduct her. James entered the room, looking calm as ever. "I guess the secret's between us." he said. "The whole alter ego."

"I knew you would piece the puzzles together." Bruce said. "You're arresting me?"

"The chief's not thinking that way." he shrugged. "We're not having that idea in mind. Considering this case closed." Bruce ticked a doubting gaze at James but nodded in agreement. "Next time, you both should send postcards after giving birth." someone knocked on the door and in came the pediatrician in charge of checking up on Vicky to be sure that she's okay.

"Your child is fine Madam Vice President." he said. "But you should try to avoid putting your baby daughter in danger." taking my daughter back I cradled her in my arms, clutching her tightly in my arms.

"Did you actually got Sean's computer?" I asked after the doctor left.

"I lied. At least part of it is." he said. "I didn't get his computer, but I did download the contents of his hard drive into a USB stick before I could be blown to kingdom come."

"Found the bastard who did this?" Bruce asked.

"We do." James said.
