The next morning when we woke up, Nico didn't say anything about last night. I didn't think I should either, so I didn't mention anything, but I was still buzzing with excitement. After eating breakfast we all went outside to get to work. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the snow was clear and soft and birds were flying in the trees. It seemed like today was going to be a good day.
Boy was I wrong.
As we walked through the wood, everything was calm. We found a rabbit, and not much else. But it didn't matter. Everyone seemed to be having fun. Suddenly an arrow shot past my head. The calm was instantly over. Everyone grabbed their weapons and turned to face the attacker. It was the 2 district 10 tributes. the boy loaded his bow and launched another attack, which narrowly missed Zach, who pulled out his own bow and shot an arrow back. This arrow hit the boy in the forehead. He collapsed, and fell to the ground.
"ANDY!!" The girl screamed out. she ran over to check if he was alive, but it was no use. He was dead.
"YOU'LL PAY FIR THAT!!" She screamed and ran at Zach with her sword. Zach punched her and she kicked him back. she tried to stab Zach a few times but missed, while Zach tried to hit her with his arrows, missing as well. Tears were streaming down her face as they battled.
"AND YOU'LL PAY FOR KILLING MY SISTER!!" Zach yelled at her as he shot another arrow, missing again. The girl lurched forward with her sword and Zach screamed in pain. Nico ran in and stabbed her in the back. A cannon blew. The girl was dead.
Zach collapsed to the ground.
"ZACH!!" Nico screamed. she ran over to find the he had been stabbed in the chest. "No, Zach, please don't die on me!"
"Nico, it's okay."
"No it's not Zach! You're dying!"
"Thank you for avenging my sister, Nico. I love you."
"I love you too, Zach" Nico replied crying. They leaned in and kissed each other. When the kiss ended, a cannon went off, and Zach died.
