Josh had been sitting in the same position listening to the commentary from the computer lab for a couple of hours, he had slept through most of the flight, but they were preparing for the intercept now. The rebels with him were all chatting and laughing, he felt left out. The Boss's voice came on the radio.

"Preparing for intercept, three minutes"

Josh was geared up ready for a quick extraction. Three minutes.

"Opening hatch" one of the rebels said over the radio, "Commander, ready?"

"Ready and set officer." One of the rebels replied.

"New kid, ready?" The rebel said.

"Read and set officer" Josh stood looking out at the sky.

The other replied to the officer and the countdown began.

3, 2, 1.

They all jumped, diving for the jet flying beneath them, it grew bigger and bigger. Josh landed on the roof and clasped his harness onto it.

"Move in boys." the rebel said. He gestured with his hand down the roof of the jet, Josh moved with caution across the planes roof, careful to dodge any birds flying at his head. They made it to the back of the plane.

"Implore hooks." the rebel said, "Commander do you copy?"

"Copy, officer" the commander jumped over the edge swinging into the hatch, which had been opened by Alex. Josh was next he jumped and swung, he flew through the sky and landed inside the hatch. The first thing he noticed was that nobody was there.

"Commander!" Josh yelled, his fellow rebel was laying on the floor with a pool of blood slowly growing around his head. Josh rushed over to him and was joined by the rest of the group.

"What's going on josh?" The rebel asked.

"I have no idea." He was stunned, he had expected to see Alex and her run straight into his arms, it was supposed to be a happy reunion.

The radio crackled in his ear, "GET OUT! DEPLOY MISSION" the Bosses voice yelled in their ears. They all stood up and looked for a way out, their plane had not flown beneath them, they couldn't jump. Josh spun in a circle and spotted a note on the wall it read, Leave, mission has been compromised. It was in Alex's handwriting.

Josh's mind spun in circles, he didn't know what to do.

"Officer, the hatch is closing." One of the rebels pointed out, the hatch was already half way closed.

"No use now." the officer declared, "You." He pointed at the rebel who spotted the hatch closing, "stay with the commander, Josh with me"

They walked, guns aloft, through the small compartments. Josh expected to be jump scared at any moment, they walked into the cockpit, where he received his jump scare. Josh watched in slow motion as three boys hit them across the head with heavy metal rods. As he fell to the ground Josh watched Alex stand emotionless in the background, he tried to yell out to her but no words came out, it was like he was stuck in time everything frozen around him, just him and Alex but she couldn't see or hear him. He watched her face as he fell into the black void, further and further away from her, complete darkness.

Alex stood over the two bodies, two of the four that had come to save her. She left the cockpit, she needed to get the note before they noticed. When Alex came back in and looked at the bodies which were now tied up and seated, one caught her attention. He was a cute boy and seemed familiar to her, Alex brushed the thought aside; she just hoped he was strong enough to endure what was ahead of him.
