Kokichi ran and ran until he reached the bathroom. He locked the door, not caring if someone else needed to go. He just wanted to be alone. He felt stary tears prick the corners of his eyes. He let out a quiet sob.

"Why me...?" He asked himself.

"Why did I have to fall for him?" He said.

"Why can't these feelings just disappear?" He cried.

He curled up on the floor as he let out more small sobs, just wishing that these dumb feelings would go away, but they wouldn't.

He needed to find a way to get rid of these feelings, and fast before anything happens to him. Not like something isn't already happening already, but you get the point.

Kokichi sat in there silently for a while before hearing someone try to open the door and failing. Then, a voice spoke up.

"Kichi? You there? Are... You ok? You've been acting really strange all day, it's starting to scare me," Said Kaito from the other side of the door.

Kokichi sniffled quietly and rubbed away his stary tears before trying his best to gain his composer, "Hahahaha! You really thought that all of that was real? Wow! You really ARE an idiot! All of that was just an act! Well, except for the part this morning when I called you means names, because that was not a lie," He said as he put on a fake smile and happy voice, despite no one being able to see him, he felt the need to fake a smile.

Perhaps it was to try to lie to himself, and to tell himself that everything was ok?

"Kichi... I'm being serious," Kaito spoke again. Kokichi's heart pounded at the sickingly sweet nickname Kaito gave him. He wanted so badly just to burst through the door and slap Kaito, slap him and yell at him for what Kaito had put him though...

But it wasn't his fault.

It was his own.

He can't blame Kaito for being so sweet to him, so kind, so gentle with him... It was so unfair that Kaito could be this nice to him while he had to sit by himself, struggling not to cry again because of Kaito's gentle ways.

"Kaito," Kokichi started, "Why can't you just leave? Why can't you just leave me alone for ONCE?!"

"Kichi I-" Kaito was cut off as he spoke again.

"You're always trying to fix problems that aren't your's, Kaito! You're always trying to be a hero, but in reality, you're only a burden to those around you. You're not a hero, Kaito, you're a no-good jerk!" He finally said before going quiet.

There was silence outside the door before the sound of shoes walking away filled his ears.

He stayed there, curled up, by himself. No one to talk to... No one to cry to... Just by himself...

Maybe Kokichi was the one that was the no-good jerk?

Kaito walked down the hallway silently. Where did this all come from? He asked himself. Everything was fine up until a few days ago... What did I do? Did I say something? He thought before shaking his head. That couldn't be it, could it? He thought more about if he had actually said something or did something to hurt Kokichi- there wasn't necessarily anything he could remember.

Perhaps he should just leave it alone for now until Kokichi calmed down. Maybe give him a few days? He thought a bit more before gasping.

"That's it!" Kaito said as he walked a bit quicker towards class.

He knew exactly who to talk to.

"Rantaro!" Kaito waved over at him.

Rantaro turned around and smiled, "Ah, Kaito, what's up?" He asked, turning around to face him as Kaito jogged over.

"Rantaro- I need your help, but- could we go somewhere more private before I ask you anything?" He replied.

Rantaro simply nodded before walking Kaito over to an area with less people- no people, actually, which was surprising considering how packed the school was, especially around lunch time.

"So, what is it?" Rantaro said with a slight smile.

"Rantaro... Something is going on with Kokichi... I don't know what, but he's been acting so strange," Kaito explained.

Rantaro's eyebrows raised a bit, "What is he doing? Did he say anything? Is he hiding, maybe running away for no reason at all?" He questioned.

"Yes, exactly. Like- he was so nice to me for a while, he would hang out with me more often, say nice things, tease less, we were genuinely getting along!" Kaito frowned.

"He's done this before... Especially when he was younger and didn't know how to hide his feelings as much. You remember me talking to you about that, right?" Rantaro said. Kaito nodded with a hum in reply, "Well, when something like this happens, it's usually because he's really, really upset about something. Do you know of anything you might have done to make him like this?" He asked.

"No... I-" Kaito thought again, "I don't know. I don't remember anything I could have done to hurt him in any way," He sighed.

"I see... Well, maybe ask people, people who you hang out a lot with around him, like Maki or Shuichi," He told Kaito, "If you still can't figure it out, I'll help you out the best I can, alright?" He smiled.

"Thank you, so much, Rantaro," Kaito grinned, "I can always count on you, dude!" He gave him a thumbs up. Rantaro only smiled back before giving him a thumbs up as well.

"Good luck," He said simply before turning around and leaving.

Kaito began making his way towards the cafeteria, ready to help his friend the best he can. Where should he start, though? Maybe he should ask Maki, since she was one of the few people he saw that day.

Kaito rusher his way over to the table that they normally sat at, and without bothering to sit down, he put his hands on the table.

"Guys," He started, catching both Maki and Shuichi's attention, "I need your help,"
