The grocery bags were dropped to the kitchen floor with a loud thud. You whipped out your phone in search of the recipe you had in mind. The infamous "Eight desserts in one tray" produced by Tasty.
It was only because you weren't able to decide between baking brownies, cookies, or a cake for Felix's birthday. So you thought, why not all, and even more? Granted, you never actually really tried your hand at baking before so this was just gonna be one huge gamble.
You laid out all the ingredients onto the kitchen counter according to their respective desserts. The recipe called for eight separate sections of desserts: cookies, m&m cookies, brownies, a smores cake, cheesecake, banana bread, pumpkin pie, and apple pie.

You swept a contemplative glance over what you managed to scavenge from the supermarket, grinding your teeth in dissatisfaction. The place you did your shopping was running low on stocks and it was too late at night to search anywhere else, so you had to make do with what they had.
That meant that you ended up with a pack of jumbo marshmallows, skittles instead of m&ms, and cake flour instead of all-purpose.
What was the difference between cake flour and all-purpose anyway? Technically brownies are a type of cake... right?
Sighing, you retrieved the mixing bowls Felix kept in the cupboards and the leftover cookie dough from the fridge. It was the one thing you didn't want to screw up as bad and, well, there was a perfectly fine batch he left in the fridge so...
As you set it aside to thaw, you got to work on the brownie mix. You'd watched Felix prepare it in the kitchen when you came to offer some help. Admittedly, it was so you could sneak in a taste of the batter before he'd stop you saying you could get salmonella or something from the raw eggs.
The process went smoother than you anticipated, even if you did still somehow spilled cake flour everywhere upon trying to open the bag. Maybe those times you watched him cooking did help. Not that you expected yours would taste anywhere near as good as his.
