Twelve | Fallen Promise: The Child

A THOUSAND YEARS PASSED

DION SCHMITZ

          I'm getting bored as time passes by, I mean a thousand years have already passed and but still there's no sign of him. On the other hand, Nathan he confessed to me. And I'm staying away from him. I clearly told him that I'll reject him no matter how many times he asks me. But he still doesn't give up. He always comes the rest house so I never went there back again and I just hid away from him. I'm at the rooftop now, standing at the edge of corner. I'm watching down as people pass by here and there. Of the years I've been here, I'm kinda like a modern angel now. I'm not dressed in white garments, instead, I'm dressed in red. I often go to places like clubs, yeah, I go there. No one can see me anyway. I haven't mentioned that I can hide my wings and halo, it'll only appear if I want to, and if I'm in the mission.

          I've already did countless missions. And now I'm starting to wonder if what I'm hoping will come true. But I'm not losing hope. Father promised me that. And I'm not going to doubt him about that.

          As I was looking down I saw this young boy, about 5 years old I think, playing with a girl. I found them cute and I remembered my childhood. I flew down to watch them closer. I thought that they were playing, but no they're not. He's just running away from the young girl. How funny, it looks just like what happened to us when we were young. I found myself laughing and watched them still.

          "Stop following me, go away" the boy said.

          "Dylan, please... don't run away from me, I just want to play with you" the girl said as she's chasing the boy

          "Well, I don't want to. Stop clinging to me, just because I helped you get your teddy bear when it got stuck on the wooden chair, doesn't mean that I'm considering you as a playmate" the boy said as he keeps on running and running until he bumped on someone.

          "Mommy, this girl is chasing me" the boy said, as he hides on the back of the person he bumped on, and I was her mom.

          "Honey, don't be like that, do not treat girls like that, be friendly, go on and apologize" as what her mother said, he walked towards to the girl and apologized.

          "I'm sorry" the boy apologized, but still I can see that he's just being forced, and he really doesn't want to do that. After he said that, he walked back towards her mother, and they got inside the car.

          What a coincidence how the child acted resembled how Clint treated me before. I went back to the roof top and again keep on watching. I'll just stay here until a new mission comes.

NATHAN

          I'm still looking for her, I will find her. I will not give up. We are angels now, we can be together since we will stay like this forever. I just don't understand why she rejects me. What's in me that she doesn't like? Do I look terrible? I'm handsome not to boast.

          Where could she be. She didn't went back to the house. Where could she be staying now? I wonder what she's doing.

          My confession surely struck her out to the decision of leaving me. But that just left me confused. She doesn't know any guy she will like aside from me. Why is she so reserved. There isn't any written rule in the scroll that we can't be in love. So why did she reject me.

SOMEONE

          The rain pour down as Dion is still standing at the rooftop. She spread her arms to welcome the drops of the rain. Her scroll suddenly lit. A new mission now comes. As she chanted the phrase "take me to my mission" the halo becomes visible, and her wings now are reappearing, then she disappeared.
