Marinette gazed at the night sky, sighing at the stars. Even the stars reminded her of him. Their shine was as bright as he got when he was excited about something. She looked across her and looked at his face. Oh, why did they have to put that wretched billboard there? Marinette put her elbow's on the railing of her rooftop area. She placed her hands under her chin, looking at the face of her love.

"His face is everywhere, huh?" A voice said behind her.

Marinette turned around to find Cat Noir sitting on her railing.

"Hey, Cat Noir. Finished patrol?"

Cat Noir laid down on Marinette's railing, a foot dangling off the edge. How she balanced himself, she didn't know.

"Yup," The superhero said, "I was heading home and thought I'd check up with you."

Marinette swallowed her tears, "I'm doing fine."

Cat Noir sat himself up, looking at Marinette, whose head was down. "You're lying."

Marinette looked up at him, "No, I'm not." She insisted.

Cat Noir shook his head slightly, "Yes, you are. What happened?"

"I just—" Marinette hesitated, "Do you ever feel like whatever you do, you'll always feel alone. No matter how many friends you make, you'll still be alone because that one person brushes you off?"

"More times than you would know, Marinette." Cat Noir smiled sadly, "Ladybug's everything to me, but I'm nothing to her."

"That's not true."

"It really is, Marinette," Cat Noir looked at the Ladybug and Cat Noir movie poster on the street, "The feeling never goes away. And it never will."

"I'm sorry." Marinette whispered.

"Don't be. It's not your fault. Now, enough about me. What's going on?"

"He'll never like me, Cat Noir," Marinette looked up at the cat with big, round eyes filled with tears, "He sees me as a friend. That's it. He loves someone else." A tear ran down her cheek. Cat Noir leaped down and hugged Marinette. She rested her head under his shoulder.

"I'm so sorry, Marinette. He doesn't deserve you." Cat Noir said in her ear.

"But it's not his fault I'm undesirable! He has every right to love someone else. I can't even tell him. The girl he loves is probably better than me anyway."

"I doubt that's true," Cat Noir pulled away, looking into her eyes, "You're amazing, Marinette. You're so helpful and talented. I doubt anyone is better than you. Forget about that stupid guy. I'm sure there's someone out there that loves you instead of ignoring you."

Marinette blushed, "Well, there is this one guy—"

"Who?" Cat Noir asked, extremely curious.

Marinette turned even redder, "Luka Couffaine." She muttered.

Cat Noir gaped at her, "The guy that was the Silencer?"

Marinette nodded, "Did you know he confessed his love to me twice that day? Once as Silencer, once as himself. But I can't imagine myself with him, Cat Noir. I always imagined myself with someone else."

Marinette sat herself down on her patio chair while Cat Noir made himself comfortable on the railing. The two sat in silence for a few minutes.

"Who is the guy hurting you?"

"I—" Marinette stopped, "I don't want to tell you."

"I understand. You don't trust me."

Marinette shook her head, "No, I promise that's not it. I'm just embarrassed."
