"Adripunzel!" Mother Gabriel called, "let down your beautiful locks, my son!"
Adripunzel sighed as he pulled out his golden hair and set it against the hook on the windowsill. He was fifty feet in the air, inside a tower with only one entrance. He pushed his long hair out of the window. The hair fell all the way down until it touched the ground. Mother Gabriel started to climb up it, as Adripunzel grunted at the sudden weight pulling at his scalp.
Mother Gabriel climbed into the tower and set his groceries on the side table. Adripunzel tried moving to see what's inside only to hiss as his hair caught onto the hook.
"You ignorant child, I told you to be careful with your hair! How else will I use its magic to keep my wife alive?" Mother Gabriel scolded as he gingerly picked Adripunzel's hair off of the hook and into the tower.
Mother Gabriel kicked Plagscal, Adripunzel's pet chameleon out of the way before putting the pre-made food onto the dining table.
"I'm going out again," Mother Gabriel announced, "I have to take care of some business."
"Yes, Mother Gabriel," Adripunzel whispered, nodding his head in agreement. He would have another afternoon with no one but himself and Plagscal.
Soon, Adripunzel had let down his hair again with Mother Gabriel coming down it. He watched Mother Gabriel ride away on his gorilla. Adripunzel gazed at the trees surrounding his prison as he pulled his hair up, having a conversation with Plagscal. Plagscal did nothing but squeak and lick the Camembert Adripunzel had stolen from Mother Gabriel's groceries.
Mid-conversation, Adripunzel heard a rustle in the bushes. Gasping, he hurriedly rushed back into his tower and stayed quiet. Mother Gabriel shouldn't be back yet. Maybe it was just a creature?
Unluckily, Adripunzel was wrong. He heard grunts get closer up the tower. He positioned himself near the window holding up a silver stick. He quickly grabbed some black paint, smearing it around his eyes so that the intruder wouldn't recognize him. Plagscal rolled his eyes and went back to eating his Camembert.
Adripunzel gasped as a red yo-yo wrapped around his hook. A girl came swinging in, her yo-yo flying everywhere. The yo-yo fell on Adripunzel's head, causing him to wince in pain.
"Oh, I'm so sorry," the girl said, "I'm so clumsy."
The girl was wearing a read helmet with black spots on it.
"You've got to help me," the girl said, "I'm being chased by this girl with purple at the end of her hair. I stole her bicycle."
Adripunzel inhaled sharply, holding up his stick again, "I'm not harboring a thief!"
The girl removed her helmet. Adripunzel dropped his stick in surprise. In front of him was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
"If it makes you feel better," she started, "my name is Marino."
"I don't believe you," Adripunzel insisted, regaining his posture.
The girl sighed, "fine. I'm Marinette, alright? Marino just sounds cooler."
"That's more believable," Adripunzel agreed.
Marinette looked outside, "seems like they're gone. I better go."
"Wait," Adripunzel said, "I want to go with you. Just to make sure you return the bike."
Marinette groaned. "Do I have to?"
"Yes, let's go."
Adripunzel used his hair to slowly drop to the floor, his bare feet touching the grass. Marinette flopped beside him, whining at how her yo-yo had failed her.
Marinette pulled out a bicycle out of the bushes. She got on it, motioning for Adripunzel to get on behind her. Adripunzel got on. On their way to the village, they ran into Juleka, the girl whose bike Marinette had stolen. Adripunzel forced her to return it, much to Marinette's demise.
In the end, Adripunzel moved far away with Marinette. He got used to her lifestyle and reformed her for the better.
The End.
