Ahh, I haven't updated in agessss. Sorry everyone, I've had a major pause on this chappie... I also got a new series to read and I couldn't put it down until I finished soooo... you get that right?

Not reread or edited.

Brant opened his eyes the next day, his burns were very painful and he could barely move, but still managed to hug Jolie when he woke up. The hug lasted so long that by the time they pulled apart Sophie felt as hungry as pig that hadn't eaten in three days.

She told her family that she was going to get a snack from... somewhere. She didn't exactly know her way around the hospital yet. Once she had walked outside the room she searched the hallway for a vending machine. The hallway was bare and only consisted of doors and a bin. She decided to wing it and walk around in hopes of finding some sort of food.

After who knows how long of wandering aimlessly around the hospital, Sophie finally came across the glorious Vending Machine. It was filled with candy but she didn't care, it was food. Her stomach couldn't take it any longer no matter what kind of food it was she needed to eat it. A white box caught her eye, making an image of Keefe appear in her mind, down to the cheeky sparkle in his eyes.

She pressed the coordinated button that matched the white box's number and letter and slid the cash into the slot. But it wouldn't go in, her cash would not slide into the machine.

"Just go in already!" Sophie whisper-yelled to the cash. She tried pushing it in a couple more times until giving up, but she was to hangry to just let it go. Instead of walking away and finding another vending machine she kicked the machine with all her might, when she was angry she could make quite the impact, literally. The machine had a small dent in the spot where she had kicked it. But luckily a box of Prattles' and a few other candies fell out of their slots and right to the collection chamber. Sophie smiled, satisfied. She reached in her hand and grabbed the few packets of candy as well as the Prattles' box.

The dent she had left in the vending machine wasn't too noticeable, that's what she kept telling herself at least. She walked away from the damaged machine looking as guilty as ever, she felt really bad for damaging it but there wasn't really anything she could do. A dented vending machine wasn't that big of a deal right? She sure as heck hoped not. A bench was seated just down the hall, it looked like a good enough place to enjoy her sugary treats. She walked to the bench, tearing open her Prattles' box on the way.

Once she had settled on the surprisingly comfy bench she reached in the box and pulled out the small drawstring pouch that held her pin. Pulling the bag open she looked inside and found a...

...horse

Sophie sighed, that was disappointing. Weren't these pins supposed to be magical made up creatures? Sophie thought as she pulled out the white horse. But as she saw it closer she noticed a beautiful long twirled horn that grew from the horses forehead. This was no horse, it was a unicorn.

She slowly turned the unicorn pin over so she could see how rare it was. It definitely wasn't as rare as her MoonLark pin, but it was still very rare. The back read: "122/568" Sophie laughed, it was way rarer than Keefe's Gulon pin! She stood up and started running down the hall, she didn't really know where she was going but she wanted to show a certain someone that she had more than one rare Prattles' pin in her collection. Surprisingly she made it to the front of the building pretty quickly. When Sophie reached the front of the hospital she stopped, where was she even going? She didn't know where he lived and school wasn't in session, most likely. He probably didn't even want to talk to her anyway. She dropped her head and walked back the way she came in hopes of finding her way back to Brant's room.

Once Sophie had finally found the room in which Brant was being held in, she smiled. Some would say she smiled because he was alive. Others would say she smiled because she didn't get lost again on her way back to the room. She turned the handle and walked inside, her smile grew wider when she noticed that the room had been decorated. The hospitals bare white walls had balloons against random spots on the walls, and confetti littered the also plain white tile flooring. The confetti was no doubt Edaline's doing, as well as the lace that had been thrown on all of the chairs in the room.

"Well this is looking snazzy!" Sophie said jokingly as she walked into the newly decorated room. Edaline laughed, since she knew that Sophie knew it was mostly her doing.

"Why thank you very much!" Edaline responded in a fancy voice. Everyone laughed, including Brant. Which sounded more like a dying cat, but it was great to here him make any sound at all. Jolie walked up to Sophie and gave her a big hug from behind.

"Just wait till the wedding, Edaline insisted on helping." She said out loud but still directed at Sophie.

"You know you needed my help." Edaline responded plainly as she fixed one of the lace chair coverings.

"Speaking of the wedding, we have decided to postpone it until Brant is well enough to leave the hospital. And good news, you know how Mallory and Chris couldn't make it to the wedding?" Jolie asked as she let go of Sophie. Edaline nodded. "Well, since we're moving the date they'll be able to make it!"She said excitedly. Sophie internally groaned and sat on one of the lace-covered chairs.

Mallory and Chris were her aunt and uncle, they had a daughter named Selena. Selena was never very nice to Sophie since the day Edaline and Grady started fostering her. Of course nobody in the family knew this, Selena was one of those people who were an angel around any adult but when they were gone they unleashed their inner monster. Sophie sighed and prayed she wouldn't have any encounters with Selena alone. She smiled a big false smile and pretended to be happy about the development. The wedding was originally supposed to be in April, but with the recent events they played it safe and decided to go for august. Hopefully Brant would be well enough in three months to married to the love of his life.

Yay! It's a miracle! I finally updated, and I think the next chappie will be the last one... that's so sad it feels like I started this a day ago. Well I hoped you enjoyed, and let me just say the last chappie will 100% make up for my vacant days...
