They're the gong and the shou in the short story I wrote! Hong Yue exclaimed in his mind as he stared at Bai Wenhe and Hei Yuanqi with a heated gaze.
"Are you alright?" Hei Yuanqi worriedly asked after they were shocked when Hong Yue fell. He was about to help Hong Yue up when the elevator's doors suddenly closed. He immediately stopped it for it to remain open.
Lan Xing leaned down to pick up Hong Yue who was sprawled on the floor. However, his bag is on his way. Thus, he moved his bag back on his back and carefully picked Hong Yue up. Fortunately, there's no one in the 6th floor aside from them four. "What are you being excited for?" he whispered to Hong Yue when he carried him outside the elevator. "You know them?" he asked as they walked beside Bai Wenhe and Hei Yuanqi.
Hei Yuanqi immediately let go of the elevator doors and turned to them. "You know us?" he asked Hong Yue.
"..." he can't just tell them he made them star anonymously in a BL story, can he? Hong Yue thought. "I met you two yesterday." He said.
"Oh. There are many students in the university, so I didn't recognize you." Hei Yuanqi said.
"You don't have to lie." Bai Wenhe told Hei Yuanqi.
Hei Yuanqi frowned and he glared at Bai Wenhe. "I'm not! Hong Yue's good-looking, so I wouldn't forget him if I'd meet him!" he said and pointed Hong Yue who's in Lan Xing's arms.
Hong Yue blushed while Bai Wenhe's expression turned ugly. He glared at Hong Yue before he pulled Hei Yuanqi to leave.
"Hey!" Hei Yuanqi called but Bai Wenhe didn't stop until they reached their unit and they went inside. The door closed, cutting off Hei Yuanqi's curses to Bai Wenhe.
"..." Hong Yue suddenly felt guilty. What did I just do? He thought as he looked at Lan Xing who also looked at him. "I am innocent." He immediately said.
"I didn't say you're not." Lan Xing told Hong Yue and they went to their unit. He carefully placed Hong Yue in the sofa before he took out the ice bag. He also filled a plastic tub with cold water before he went back to Hong Yue and soaked Hong Yue's injured foot in it.
Hong Yue sucked in a sharp breath when he felt the biting ice-cold water. "Can you slowly move?" he asked. "It hurts!" He told him.
"Who told you to be careless?" Lan Xing said. "Stay still even if you feel it's tickling." He told him before he went next door.
Hong Yue watched him left before he felt his face burning. "... what am I doing?" he muttered before he called Huang Anyi.
The line connected and a woman's voice answered. "Hong Yue!" her tone is mad.
"... what? Be lenient for me today. I just sprained my ankle." He told her.
He heard her loudly gasp. "'sprain'?!" she loudly exclaimed. "That @!#@$. What did he do to you?" she asked.
"... he took care of me?" Hong Yue answered. He suddenly heard a loud noise from the other line.
"I'm going to your school!" she said.
Hong Yue frowned. "No." he told her. "You'll be catching more attention." He said.
"Ai!" she exclaimed before she cursed again. "Ow!" she cried.
Hong Yue was puzzled when he heard a man's voice. "Yue-er. How was your new school?" he asked.
"Uncle." Hong Yue called. He must have hit his beloved daughter again for acting unlady-like. "I am fine. Thank you." He said and smiled. "This is better compared to the other one." He's referring to the first school he enrolled in.
The man in the other line sighed. "I told you not to be hasty. See, you chose the wrong school." He told him.
Hong Yue chuckled. "That's very careless of me." he said when he heard the door opened and saw Lan Xing came in.
"What was that noise?" the man asked from the other line.
"Who's calling you?" Lan Xing asked when he saw Hong Yue was smiling brightly.
Hong Yue's guardian's eyes sharpened. "Who was that?" he sharply asked.
"Uncle..." Hong Yue called. "He's my roommate." He explained.
Lan Xing's brows raised. So, it's not that 'Huang Anyi'? He thought and felt relieved. He's worried Hong Yue would be weirder.
The man from the other line breathed filled with relief. "Then, that's good. There's someone to look after you now." He told him. His voice is soft.
... uncle. Don't speak meaningfully, or I'll think you're marrying me off to my roommate. Hong Yue thought and looked at Lan Xing. "What's that?" he asked when he saw him carrying a hoverboard.
"This..." Lan Xing said as he raised the hoverboard. "For you." He told Hong Yue.
"For me? Why?" Hong Yue was surprised.
"I asked Bai Wenhe and Hei Yuanqi how to travel without walking. They suggested to try the hoverboard." Lan Xing explained. "This is Hei Yuanqi's. He doesn't use them now since he's into sports." He explained as he placed the hoverboard on the floor.
"'hoverboard'?" the man from the other line said. The call is still connected.
"Uncle. Thanks for checking on me. I am fine. Goodnight." Hong Yue said before he ended the call.
"You uncle?"
"He's my parents' friend. He became my legal guardian when I was orphaned." Hong Yue explained as he picked up the hoverboard. "This is good." He said when he noticed the hoverboard still looked new. "How much is this? I'll pay Hei Yuanqi – " he said.
"No need. He doesn't like people indebted to him." Lan Xing told Hong Yue as he took the hoverboard before he placed it on the floor. "Does your foot still hurt?" he asked.
"Not anymore." Hong Yue answered.
"Then, you try this." Lan Xing told him.
Hong Yue nodded. "Okay." He said before he slowly placed his feet. "Oops – " he said when he almost fell after his knees felt weak.
Lan Xing immediately caught him. "You also don't have a balance." He said and frowned.
Hong Yue laughed. "Sorry... I'll slowly learn this since this is convenient." He assured him before he placed his feet on the hoverboard again while Lan Xing held him as he helped him balance himself.
"Do you know how to operate a hoverboard?" Lan Xing asked.
"Yes." Hong Yue answered.
Lan Xing was not surprised. Anyone can research it. "I'll help you first." He told Hong Yue as he held Hong Yue's hand. He has small hands... and they're fair and smooth. He thought. However, he also felt Hong Yue's hands are cold and clammy. "Hong Yue?" he called and saw Hong Yue's face is deathly pale and he stood frozen on the hoverboard.
Hong Yue didn't have time to think much about Lan Xing's actions since he felt vertigo.
