Annalise's POV
Yesterday, Ace saved me. I was thankful that he saved me. Ace is like my Knight in shining armor. What a coincidence because his surname is also Knight.
We walked side by side while sharing the umbrella, and I found our position awkward. I looked at Ace's side profile, and he is so handsome. I bet those desperate girls are jealous of us now. Suddenly, my heart skips a bit.
OMG! What is this? I cannot feel like this because I am only Ace's fake girlfriend and am not interested in entering a relationship yet. I'm just going to ignore what I'm feeling right now.
Selena and I are at the library, making an essay homework to pass tomorrow.
"Hey, ladies. What's up?"
Selena and I looked at the person who said that, and it was James. Ace is also with him.
"Making an essay. It's our homework. The deadline is tomorrow," Selena answered.
"Oh, I almost forgot. I will make that when I get home," James said.
"Can we join you?" Ace said.
"Sure"
Ace sat beside me, and James sat beside Selena.
"What subject is that?" Ace asked.
"History subject. We are making a critique paper. I'm almost done," I answered.
"You are? I'm not done yet, actually," Ace said.
"Uh, can I have your number? Because I didn't get your number yet," Ace asked.
"Oh, okay. Give me your cell phone," I said.
"Here"
I looked at Selena, and she was making a weird expression.
Ace and I exchanged numbers.
"Okay. Now we can exchange messages. My locker is full of letters daily, but now, I'm glad it's empty," Ace said.
"That's great," I replied.
I finished my essay homework and probably head home.
"I'm done, Selena," I said.
"Already?" Selena said with a shocked expression.
"I will take my leave now. You?" I said.
"I will stay here for a while," Selena answered
"Okay," I said.
"Let's go, Anna?" Ace asked.
"Okay," I replied.
"I will take my leave also. Got to run," James said.
"See you tomorrow, Sel," I said, waving at Selena.
"Okay. Take care,"
It was raining hard when Ace and I were about to go outside the building.
Oh no, what to do? I still didn't bring my umbrella.
"Do you have an umbrella, Ace?" I asked.
"Sorry, but I forgot to put it inside my bag," Ace answered.
"Let's make a run for it,"
I ran, and Ace followed me.
Prince Ace's POV
James and I were returning a book at the library when we saw Anna and Selena. James and I joined them. When Anna was done making an essay, we left the library.
It's raining hard when we are about to go outside the building, and I forgot my umbrella at my condo unit. Maybe Anna has one, but she also said she forgot to bring it.
She said to make a run for it, so we are now running and soaking wet.
"This is fun!" Anna excitedly said.
"I agree," I said.
I looked at Anna, and she was smiling like a child. She has a beautiful smile.
She was walking backward when I saw a man riding a bicycle, looking at his phone and not the road. And is about to hit Anna.
"Watch out, Anna"
I grab her waist, and we are now close to each other.
We looked at each other, and she looked more beautiful up close.
"Uhm," Anna said.
"Ah, sorry," I apologized, letting go of her waist and separating the proximity.
"Thank you," Anna said.
"Don't mention it,"
My heart skips a bit. Why am I feeling like this? We are fake couples, and I'm not interested in romantic relationships. I'm just going to ignore this feeling.
After that incident, we continued to run and head to where we were staying.
