Chapter 6: Sick

Annalise's POV

When I arrived at the condo building where Ace lives, he was not there waiting. I waited 5 minutes, but no Ace was leaving the building. I texted Ace, but he was not answering, so I went to the university without him.

When I arrived in the classroom, I thought about the incident yesterday. When Ace grabs my waist, our face is close to each other. It was an awkward position, and my heart skipped a beat. I kept thinking about it when I got to my apartment room.

"Yoohoo. Earth to Anna. What are you thinking about?" Selena appeared in front of me.

"Oh, it's you, Sel. Nothing," I answered.

"Nothing? Anna, I know you. Are you thinking about something or someone? Is that someone, Ace?" Selena guessed.

"What? No," I defensively answered.

"Defensive. It's Ace, am I right?" Selena said, forcing me to answer that I was thinking about Ace.

"You got me. Yes, it's Ace," I answered.

"I'm right. So, did something happen yesterday?"

I told Selena what happened to Ace and me yesterday in the rain.

"What? Really? That's so romantic. Did you feel anything?" Selena asked.

"My heart skips a beat," I answered.

"You are attracted to him, Anna," Selena said.

"I don't know, Sel," I said.

"Ace is caring and kind," Selena said.

"I know that, but we are in a fake relationship," I said.

"You can confess to him," Selena said.

"I don't know. Ace says he is not interested in romantic relationships, and I'm not ready. Besides, it's too early to confess. I don't know what I feel about him," I said, confused about what I feel for Ace.

"Who knows? A person's feelings can change at any time," Selena said.

"I've known Ace for only five days," I said because it's impossible to have feelings for someone you've known for five days.

"Think about it. When it comes to liking someone, it doesn't matter whether you've known that person for a short time. It will just happen,"

I know what Selena is saying, but maybe I'm just carried away by that incident.

I don't even know what my true feelings for Ace are. Ace said not to fall for each other and is not interested in love. If he is, what's Ace's ideal type would be like?

It's already lunchtime, and no traces of Ace around. Maybe he's absent.

Selena, James, and I are at the cafeteria eating.

"Have you seen Ace, James?" I asked.

"Nope. I went to Ace's classroom, but his classmates said he was absent. Maybe he is sick or something," James answered.

"Do you know what his unit number is in his condo?" I asked.

"Yes, it is room 405, the fourth floor," James answered.

"Okay. Thanks, James." I said.

"No problem,"

Fast forward, and class is now over. I better go to Ace's condo unit to check what happened to him. I said goodbye to Selena.

When I was walking in the hallway, a girl stopped me.

"What is it?" I asked her.

"You are Ace's girlfriend, so please give these printouts to him,"

I grabbed the paper, put it in my bag, and went to Ace's condo unit.

When I arrive, I ring the doorbell.

"Who is it?" I heard Ace's voice.

"It's Anna," I said.

"Wait"

Ace's voice is somehow weak. Maybe he is sick.

When he opened the door, I was shocked because he fell.

"Ace!"

I put my hand on his forehead, and it is burning hot. I accompanied him to his bed.

His condo unit is big and clean.

"Have you taken medicine, Ace?" I asked.

"Not yet, and the medical kit is empty," Ace answered.

"Luckily, I always bring the medicine with me. You should take it,"

I grab the medicine for fever out of my bag and pour water into a glass.

I gave Ace the medicine, and he drank it.

"What are you doing here, anyway? And why do you know my unit number?" Ace asked.

"I'm here to check on you because you are absent. You didn't text me that you have a fever. James said your unit number, so I went here, and your classmate handed me a printout." I answered.

"Oh, okay. Only James knows my unit number. Sorry that I didn't text you," Ace said.

"It's okay," I said.

"You should go to your apartment room now. I'm afraid you will catch a fever too, if you stay here," James said.

"I don't get fever easily, so let me take care of you,"

Prince Ace's POV

I didn't go to university today because I have a fever. My body is weak, so I can't get up. I am also feeling dizzy. Maybe it is because of the rain yesterday.

I was sleeping when the doorbell rang. Who could it be? I slowly got up, and I was feeling dizzy. I opened the door, and it was Anna. And then I fell because I felt dizzy.

Anna accompanied me to my bedroom and gave me medicine. I said to go home, but she insisted.

"Do you mind if I use the kitchen?" Anna asked.

"No"

After a few minutes, I smelled something delicious.

Anna went inside my room and carried a tray with food.

"I made porridge. It would make you feel better," Anna said, lifting the bowl of porridge.

"Thank you. You don't need to do this, though," I said.

"You know the university today is peaceful. You can't hear girls shouting when they see their idol. And what I'm talking about is you. So I need to do this so you will return to normal. What's the use of a fake girlfriend?" Anna said.

"Okay, okay,"

I got up but felt groggy, so I asked Anna if she could feed me.

When Anna was blowing the porridge, I looked at her face. I experienced this long ago when someone cared for me when I was sick.

I observed Anna's face, and she was beautiful. I'm thankful that she came here.

The porridge is delicious. I finished it in just a few minutes. After eating, Anna put a wet towel on my forehead and did the dishes.

"Uhm, Ace. I will take my leave now. I put the medicine on the table beside you, so drink it after 4 hours, okay?" Anna reminded me.

"Okay. Thank you for today, Anna," I said.

"No problem. Get well soon, Ace," Anna said, grabbing her bag.

"Okay"

Anna left my condo unit.
