Annalise's POV
Today is Saturday, and I have a Saturday class. Ace told me he couldn't attend the university because he still had a fever.
James was already inside when I entered the classroom. He is early today.
James is seated at the back of my seat.
"Good morning, James. You're early today," I said.
"Good morning, Anna. Yup, because I'm feeling inspired," James said happily.
"Oh, I bet it's a girl," I said.
"You got that right. Thinking about making our relationship official yesterday makes me so hyper," James said, feeling kilig.
"Congrats. Who's the girl?" I asked.
"She is not studying at this university, but she is my childhood best friend," James answered.
"Oh. Good luck with your relationship," I said.
"Thanks, Anna"
James asked me about Ace, and I said he had a fever until now, so he is still absent.
After a few minutes, the class starts. My class every Saturday is a half-day, so it's until noon.
When class was over, I prepared to leave the classroom. When I was about to leave the classroom, someone called me, and it was the girl yesterday. She is Ace's classmate.
"Uhm. Can you give these printouts to Prince Ace?" She said, handing me her notes.
"Okay. By the way, Ace is absent because he has a fever," I said, taking her notes.
"Okay, I will tell our adviser about Ace's condition," She said.
"Thanks"
I put the printouts in my bag and headed to Ace's condo unit.
When I arrived at his condo unit, I rang the doorbell, and he opened the door.
"Come in," Ace said.
"Your classmate gave another printout to me," I said, giving him the notes.
"Thank you," He said.
"No problem. I cooked porridge this morning and will heat it because it's cold now. Can I use your kitchen?" I asked.
"Sure. I will be in my room," Ace said, climbing the stairs to his room.
"Okay"
Maybe Ace is still not feeling well.
I use Ace's kitchen and heat the porridge after heating it. I put it in a bowl and served it to Ace.
Prince Ace's POV
I'm now feeling better, but I still have a slight fever. I just stayed in my room all morning. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and when I opened it, it was Anna. She gave me another printout.
I was thankful because she cooked her delicious porridge. It was the right time because I still haven't eaten lunch.
"Porridge is ready. Eat up," Anna said, putting the bowl of porridge on the table.
"Thank you. Your porridge is delicious," I complimented her cooking.
"Thank you. I learned it because my mom taught me how to cook it."
When Anna said about the mom's part, my face got gloomy.
"Did I say something wrong, Ace?" Anna asked, looking at me.
"No, it's just the mom part," I answered.
"I'm sorry. Did something happen between you and your mom?"
I told Anna about my parents.
My mom left us with another man. I was mad about my mom leaving us. I was only ten years old when my mom left us. From that day on, it's just my Dad and me because I'm an only child. I think Mom left us because of Dad. Dad is so busy and a workaholic, and he has no time for us. I love my dad even though he has no time for us because I know he is doing it for the family to live a good life. I love my Mom even though she left us. I wouldn't say I like the fact that she left us. I mean, they can talk it out. When Mom left us, Dad started to have time for me. He would go home early and teach me when I had difficulty studying. Maybe Dad realizes his wrongdoings. And that's also why I'm not interested in romantic relationships.
"I'm sorry," Anna said.
"It's okay. I'm relieved that I opened it up to you. James needs to learn all the details. All he knows is my mom left us with another man," I said.
"Oh. I'm happy and thankful that you opened it up in full detail to me,"
I finish the bowl of porridge.
"Thank you again for the delicious porridge," I said, giving her the empty bowl.
"No problem. Let's check if you still have a fever,"
Anna put her hand on my forehead, and her face was close to my face. I stared at her face.
"Oh, I'm sorry. My face is too close. You don't have a fever anymore," Anna said, giving us proximity.
"Thank you for caring for me, Anna," I genuinely said.
"Always welcome. I need to wash these and take my leave," Anna said, getting the bowl.
"Okay"
Anna washed the dishes, and after washing the dishes, she grabbed her bag.
"I will be taking my leave now, Ace. Get well soon," Anna said, waving at me.
"Okay"
Anna left my condo unit.
