Chapter 8: Treat

Prince Ace's POV

Today is Sunday, and I plan to treat Anna to a café nearby because I owe her for caring for me when I have a fever. She took care of me for two straight days, and I thought of paying her back, and that was to treat her.

I called Anna, and seconds later, she picked up the phone.

"Hello, Ace?" Anna said on the other line.

"Ah, Anna. Are you free today?" I asked. I hope she's free.

"Yeah, I am. Why?" Anna asked.

"Let's go to a café nearby at 3 in the afternoon. My treat," I said.

"Okay," She answered.

"I will wait for you outside the apartment," I said.

"Okay"

It's still morning, so I busied myself. I play video games. And when it was already afternoon, I ate lunch.

When it was already 2 in the afternoon, I got ready.

Annalise's POV

It's Sunday, so I must clean up my apartment and wash my clothes at a laundry shop.

When I was cleaning, my phone suddenly rang. I pick up my phone and see who is calling me, Ace. I answered it, and he said that we would go to a café at three in the afternoon and it would be his treat. This is the first time.

I was thinking about Ace treating me to a café. It's like a date because it's only us two. Why am I fantasizing about it? It's not a date, Annalise. Wake up.

I continued doing my chores for the day. When I'm done doing chores, I check the time, and it's already 1:30 in the afternoon.

I went to my closet and picked what clothes to wear later. I will wear high-waist pants and a shirt paired with sneakers. That's my kind of fashion. After that, I got ready.

After bathing, I dressed and put on face powder and lip tint. And I'm ready to go. It's almost 3 in the afternoon, so I need to go outside now. Maybe Ace is waiting for me outside the building already.

I saw him waiting for me when heading to Ace's building.

"Ace," I called him because he didn't see me approaching.

"Oh, you look nice, Anna," Ace said, looking at me from head to toe.

"Thanks," I said, looking down.

"Let's go?" Ace said.

"Uhum"

Ace said that I looked nice. It's the first time that a guy said that to me.

Ace and I went to the café. When we arrived, we searched for an available seat.

"What do you want? I will order," Ace asked.

"Uhm. I want sans rival cake and ice cream shake," I answered.

"Okay. I will be back,"

Ace ordered our dessert.

After a few minutes, he came back with a tray of food.

"Here is your order, and this is mine," Ace said, putting our order on the table.

"Thanks"

Ace ordered baked chocolate cake and an Oreo shake.

We started eating.

"Anna, you have icing beside your lips,"

I wipe the icing with a tissue.

"Not there. Let me wipe it,"

I was shocked because Ace wiped it.

"Thank you," I said shyly.

"You're like a child eating the cake,"

We continued eating.

"This is so delicious," I said.

"Really? Can I have a taste?" Ace said, pointing at the cake.

"Sure," I said, and Ace tasted it.

"You're right. It's delicious," Ace said, smiling widely. This is the first time I saw Ace smiling like that.

"By the way, why did you suddenly want to treat me?" I asked.

"For taking care of me when I have a fever," Ace replied.

"You don't have to, but thanks," I said.

Ace and I talked about random topics.

"Let's have a picture together, Anna. I will upload it later and tag you so that the students will not suspect us not going out," Ace suggested. He has a point, though.

"Sure. Let me fix my hair for a bit,"

I grabbed a comb inside my bag and combed my hair.

After fixing my hair, we took pictures.

Narrator's POV

Annalise didn't know that Ace was taking a picture of her while fixing her hair. Annalise doesn't know he is taking her picture because she faces the window, so her side profile is visible. When Annalise was done fixing her hair, they took photos together.

Overall, they had fun at the café. They both got even closer, and they were confident to joke around.

The next day, when Annalise arrived at the university, she observed that most girls were gossiping and looking at their phones. Annalise just ignored them.

Prince Ace and Annalise didn't go to the university together because Prince Ace texted her that he would go to school early, so Annalise went to the university without him.

When Annalise arrived in the classroom, she asked Selena what the girls were gossiping about.

"This is what they are gossiping about,"

Selena gave her phone to me, and it's a picture of me and Ace eating in the café yesterday.

"Ah, that," I said, pointing at our picture.

"You two went to have a date?" Selena asked.

"No. That's a thank you treat because I took care of Ace when he was sick," I answered.

"Ah, I didn't know that."

Annalise told Selena what happened, starting when Prince Ace got sick for two days until the picture at the café.

"Oh, okay. I get it now," Selena said.

Their professor suddenly entered the classroom, and classes started.
