Chapter 9
I pull harshly at my shirt that my mother has made me wear. The shirt is black with be-glitter jewels, lace, beads, sparkles things, and anything else that sparkles, shines, and glitters in the world.
"Oh! Its adorable! Lottie is so exited to meet with you! You know her mother told me. She is absolutely thrilled! You two are going to have so much fun, oh and she also said that you two could go riding. Your just going to borrow one of her horses. Her parents have bought her many horses, one every show that she wins." She laughs her face is flushed with excitement. "Oh, and bring your best riding clothes in your bag, but not your show clothes. Don't want those getting messed up." She says with a strange face. I being the "good" child that I was nod and march upstairs and grab my riding gear.
I run back down stairs with my bag slung over my shoulder. My father is actually home today and is being dragged along with us. My mother has dressed him up to and he sits with a glum face. My mother however sits on the edge of the couch looking down at her phone. She wears a very very tight black dress. The dress reveled a lot of her chest area and in the back all was open from her neck down to the top of her underwear. Her shoes are very very tall tourturing black heels, inlined with little fake dimonds. Though they were very pretty I think that they were to tall for anyone to wear. I would never put my feet through that much torture and pain.
When my mother see's me standing there waiting to go she jumps off the couch and chirps like a bird "Okay everyone get up! Its time to go!" My father groans and lets his head fall back. My mother's eyes narrow at his sitting figure on the couch. "Get your lazy butt up! I'm so tired of you sitting around all the time!"
My father's head shoot up and he glares at her. "I sit around? I sit around? No! I'm up everyday at 4:00 paying for your shoes, clothes, and that phone you are glued to 24/7! No wonder you never know I'm home cause you have you have your face stuck in a screen. I think the only one who apretiates all my hard work is Jewel."
My mother has a look on her face that would make someone think he slapped her. Her mouth is open in shock and her eyes look over him. "I do not have my face in a screen! So get up or we are going to be late!" She quickly turns and taps out through the door.
My father sighs and pushes himself off the couch. "Come on Jewel, its time to go." He walks past me and goes out the door. I stand there for a second or two, to collect all of my thoughts. I then sigh and follow my parents out the door.
My parents are both waiting outside for me. My mother is already in the car looking out the window. Her phone is face down in her lap, this action is really rare but this time around she is just trying to prove my father wrong. Things like this happen all the time, so this little "fight" will go away completly in a couple of hours. I climb into the middle seat where I only sit when both of my parents are riding in the car with me. That never really happens through so its a little strange. My father climbs in after me and the driver shuts the door and gets into the drivers side.
I hold my bag thats full of my riding clothes close to my chest and out of everyones way. I look down into it and see my shirt on the top. The look brings back memories of Zane. The throught of him still hurts. Everything still hurts. I still hurt and no one seems to care. Mr. Nano doesn't count I hate him with a burning passion. I hardly even know why I hate him. I guess its the way he teaches. Or the way he hardly even grades the things I try my very best on. Or the fact that he tried to get into my life. Though I hated him before that.
While all the thoughts were going to my head I didn't notice us pull up to Lottie's house. Lottie's family outside waving at us. Her family includes her mother, her father, her, and her little brother. Lottie has a very, very fake smile plastered onto her face. I can see the fire and hate she is trying to hide with her eyes and fake smile. My mother jumps out of the car and taps over to Lottie's mother. "Oh! Barbra its so good to see you again!" They both hug one another tightly.
"Oh me too!" Barbra flips her hair back over her shoulder "Is this the sweet girl Jewel you told me about dear" she walks over to me and grabs my shoulder only to look at Lottie, who nods her head and puts a sweet smile on her face. Her mother looks back at me. "Oh your so sweet! Look at those beautiful blue eyes! And your long silky brown hair!"
Its true I had dark blue eyes and long brown hair that went half way down my back. It was mostly pulled up into a pony tail but when I'm not riding my mother makes me leave it down. Sometimes she even makes me curl it. She would then soak it with hairspray, I hate hairspray. Yes it makes your hair stay curled or straight or whatever your trying to do, but its so stiff, makes your head ich and it smells like somethings burning.
Lottie's mother stops stroking my hair and looks at my mother. "Well lets go inside have a few cups of tea and snacks then the girls cna get changed and go riding." She leaves my side and her husband offers her his arm witch she takes. We all follow after them. Lottie and her brother are up behind their parents. My mother has taken my fathers arm and I follow behind.
