There's an annoying ringing beside my head. Someone is calling my cell phone. Groaning, I reluctantly answer it, not bothering to look at the name.

"Yes?" I say with false sweetness.

"Hey!" I immediately recognize the voice as Jamie, "Don't you know Jack Whitfield?"

"Unfortunately."

"Well he was arrested last night! It's all over channel three! Apparently he put up a huge fight."

I quickly sit up, my brows wrinkled together.

"Arrested??" I ask in disbelief. "For what?!"

Seeing that I never called the police, I wander if he assaulted someone else last night.

"The police haven't said. I thought you might know."

"I don't, but I'm glad. That guys a bastard." I pull the phone back, and see that it's 6:37. "This is why you called me at six in the morning?"

"You'll be fine. You're coming in at eight anyway."

"Goodbye Jamie." I growl.

After hanging up, I just lay in bed for a bit, looking up at the ceiling. Now I'm wide awake, and I can't go back to sleep. Sighing, I set up, and decide to make myself some cereal.

Just before I start pouring the milk, the phone starts ringing, making me nearly drop the entire jug. But it isn't my cell phone.

It's the landline, which is strange because I thought it was disconnected. Brows furrowed, I approach it cautiously. Hesitantly, I pick it up, and slowly place it to my ear.

"Hello?"

"How did you know?"

That calm, deep voice saunters it way through my ear. The tone as smooth and even as ever, with no emotion behind his words.

"Uh, you're gonna to have to be more specific."

"You said Light was Kira. How did you know?"

I sigh heavily. "You know what, it's too early for this." I slam the phone down, and hang up.

I don't have time for this shit. Not after what I've been through.

Immediately the phone rings again, but I slam it on the ringer. I stand, gripping the phone, expecting it to ring again, but it doesn't.

For a moment, I wonder if I should've just picked it back up and explained things. It was actually nice to hear from him again. A familiar voice.

"Delusional."

With that annoying memory, I determine that it would've been pointless to waste my breath on the ill mannered detective. He wouldn't have believed me, no matter what I said.

But I was right all along about Light, and now he knows it.

"Yeah, who's delusional now L."

Throwing open my apartment door after a long days work, I drag myself inside, and over to my couch. I flop down, kick off my shoes, and throw my legs over the arm.

I flip through the channels, until I find something worth watching. Though I don't watch for long. I soon drift off to sleep on the couch.

I pull my eyes part when I hear someone knocking on the door. I just turn over, thinking the person will lose interest and go away. But no, I'm not so fortunate.

In my foggy state, due to having just woke up, I even don't bother asking who it is. Instead I just open the door, annoyed.

My mouth drops and my eyes widen.

"L?"
