"Are you alright?" Thor whispered as he watched Carol step into their room, looking around with big eyes. She wrapped her arms around her chest, as if protecting herself. She moved her head a bit in a motion that might've been a nod, but he wasn't sure.

She walked over to one of the sticky note covered walls and grabbed one.

Higher, further, faster.

Carol once told him that she and her friend Maria Rambeau used to say that quite often, maybe it would bring back memories. But she tore the note instead, putting the pieces down on the desk near her. For some reason it really stung to see that.

"Why is it such a mess here?" She said, glaring around the room. "I... Ehh... It's the way I coped with it," Thor stammered. Carol scrunched her nose and walked around for a moment.

Eventually she concluded, "I won't sleep here."

"What?" He said it quietly, and he wasn't even sure she heard it until she looked at him for the first time since she woke up.

She swallowed before answering, "you're a stranger, that I don't know. And you're saying that we're married, but I don't remember you, I don't remember loving you, I don't remember anything!"

Her voice had gotten frustrated and unusually loud. It had a strange tone to it that Thor couldn't place. He had never seen her this stressed.

He stepped forward and tried to hug her, but she moved away. "Don't touch me!" Her voice hoarse and loud. He didn't know what to do as he watched her shaking body.

Once again, he could see the fear in her eyes, aimed at him. Thor wanted to help her so badly, but if she wouldn't let him near her, he didn't know what to do.

Carol seemed weak and tired as she stumbled over to sit down on the bed. "I'll have another room assigned for you, I'll make sure it's right down the hallway, so in case of an emergency, please come to me," Thor whispered as he sat down on the bed, facing her, but he kept his distance because he didn't want to freak her out again.

"I'm sorry," she whispered after several minutes if silence.

"For what?" He looked at her, and leaning a bit closer in the process, making her shift away further. "For not remembering," she kept her voice quiet. "It's not your fault, you should know that," Thor said to her.

No one had told her about the accident yet, she also never asked. What she was told is that she had fallen off a building, and she accepted that as the truth.

This morning after she had gotten ready to leave the medical wing - which she had done completely on her own because she felt uncomfortable around everyone - she had mentioned remembering someone who had blue skin. But Thor had told her that humans weren't blue.

She didn't know anything about her past, and she also forgot all she knew about intergalactic life. She didn't know that other species existed in space, let alone that she was partially Kree and that she had lived there for six years.

She had shrugged and said that it might've been a dream then. But what scared him, was that the Kree who had disabled her powers and had thrown her off the building, had indeed blue skin. In a way it gave him hope that her memories would come back.

Over the next weeks thor still felt alone, but at least he saw her around a bit. She mostly stayed in her new room, that was two rooms away from his. Someone else had been assigned to make sure she ate and drank enough, and that she stayed healthy.

Thor decided that it might've been helpful if he finally went to see the Kree who caused the accident. However, upon arriving at the facility, he was informed that the Kree had escaped, and was likely already off planet. Apparently it happened several months ago, as there was no trace of the blue Kree.

He had gotten mad, how could they not have informed him that the Kree had escaped. He had caused the near death of Thor's wife for God's sake. He couldn't do anything about it anymore, but he still was furious.

Thor didn't know a lot about the Kree, but he remembered recognizing him. He wasn't sure, but he had the eery feeling that the guy was up to revenge. Kree often took revenge if they didn't win in a fight, Carol had explained that.

"They are even worse than just sore losers."

She told him some stuff about the Kree, but didn't tell much about her own experience with them. He knew that the blue skin Kree are pure. Meaning they aren't part of a cross-breeded family.

Eons ago, before the time of the Supreme Intelligence, the Kree hadn't had strict laws about mating with other species, but now it was forbidden. Still, it sometimes happened that there was a child born that was part Kree, part other species. They were deemed un-Kree, and had no rights within the empire. They were also often killed.

One night there was banging on his bedroom door, and Thor was awaken from a nightmare filled sleep. He got up and yawned, before stumbling to the door.

As he opened it his eyes nearly got blinded. From the type of light and the vague contours of a body he could immediately tell who it was.

Carol.
