~Ze's POV~

Sometimes it's easy to get lost in your own house, especially when you've just moved into your house and it's pitch black while not a single other house member is out to help you. Plus the fact that this is not the normal size of a house but instead an enormous building with several hallways and rooms leading to the most random and peculiar places. Plus the fact that this isn't a house but a large institution in which has the architecture that would be used as a labyrinth for those foreign to the place. From what I've researched and understood this place is actually widely known for its excellent defense in which the criminals would always get lost before they even get a chance to do any real damage. My fingertips skim at the surface at a nearby wall and I immediately withdraw them when I feel the stinging cold on the metallic walls. Who would build a fucking building with metal in the first place?

"Ze?" At the voice I immediately brighten up and turn around in all sorts of directions in search for the source of the all too familiar voice. In the end of the nearby hallway I find a small rectangular source of light shining down the hall to me although the holder of the light is still hidden in the shadows. I wait patiently for the person to walk towards me and find comfort in seeing the familiar face seeming as exhausted and confused as my own. The other man catches his breath as he clings the small phone in the other two directions, searching for any sign that will allow us to catch recognition of our surroundings.

"Who built this fucking place like it's a fucking puzzle? Which way Ze?" Chilled asks, placing all responsibility for our future in my hands and I immediately shrug and turn around in the three directions we have to head on from.

"I don't know. I came from there, and you came from there, so right it is," I explain and Chilled nods, taking the leads holding up his cellphone to illuminate the still dark hallway. If I hadn't just taken a shower I would also have my phone, I guess it's my own fault for forgetting my phone in the shower like always. Still, IRIS didn't have to build everything like a maze. Both Chilled and I feel a bit if not a lot freaked out by the darkness surrounding us but as usual we feel a bit more comfortable around each other. After all, we're partners in crime and have gotten through a lot together, a lot more than I have with my other friends at least. Finally we find a small plaque on a wall and Chilled goes forward to investigate as I stray back and glance around int he dark hallways.

"Will we get in trouble for being our past curfew?" I ask curiously and Chilled casually shrugs, squinting closely at the place clearly not caring very much even if we do get in trouble. It's only now I notice he doesn't even have his glasses on, how would he be able to find his way back when I couldn't with perfect vision?

"Probably not. I mean, come on. Who punishes the researchers? Soldiers I understand but we're fine, they need us anyways," Chilled explains his train of thought. I sigh and nod, allowing myself to fall for his words even though I understand he's only enjoying a position of responsibility that requires others to depend on him. It's always some kind of required leverage for him, to always have someone underneath him who requires his presence or else he won't feel secure in his position. Whether it's saving lives or ruining other peoples' lives he's fine with it as long as it matches with his morals and he feels important. I don't mind, if I did I wouldn't the his friend. I find it admiring actually, to aim to have an important role and follow that goal to extremes.

Finally a long hallway is lit up by Chilled's cellphone which lights up a long white hallway in which we both immediately recall from the time one of the major Sergeants had shown to us. Diction I believe. Then I think Chilled annoyed him by saying something incredibly cocky and he left us to fend for ourselves without the tour of the rest of the base. Sometimes Chilled's cocky attitude gets to peoples' nerves easily and it makes others hard to handle him, and naturally I'm brought down with him as his partner in crime. Chilled and I both look around at every single plaque to each room until he finally finds a familiar number to him but he continues on for my own good, being my only light source. When I find the number 112 I nod to him and dig the keycard across the lock and walk inside, sighing in relief when I find the empty room. Once inside I flip the light on and immediately flinch when the door behind me is knocked on harshly, causing noise to erupt into my room.
