Part 12

Hinata's Perspective:

I walk out of Kageyama's house and walk back to my house. When I got home my mom and little sister were in the kitchen. I take my shoes off and head to my room not saying hello to them. I flop onto my bed. I remembered I was wearing his hoodie and put the hood over my face. I didn't want him to leave, that was too far away. I reached into the hoodie pocket for my phone but then realized that it wasn't there. I sit up and look around.

Me: Dang it, I must have forgotten it at Kageyama's house

I lay back on my bed unphased. I roll over looking at the wall. About 20 minutes later I hear a loud crash sound and get up and run outside. I see a car on it's side and a boy about 10 feet away. My eyes widen when I realize who it was. I ran over to him and kneel down. It was Kageyama.

Me: Kageyama!

My mom runs outside and sees what happened. He grabs her phone and calls 911. I panic seeing all the blood. My eyes start to water when I go to check his pulse. There was no pulse.

Me: Kageyama please wake up! Wake up!

He moves a bit. I hear sirens and see the flashing lights down the street. How did this happen? Where was he going- I look at his hand and see my phone. This was my fault. My heart sank to the bottom of my stomach. The paramedics come and put him and the driver on a stretcher and put them in separate ambulances. My mom runs out and hugs me. They take him away. I sat there crying. Did I just lose him?

My mom: Honey it's going to be ok I promise

Me: Mhm

I get up and follow the ambulance.

My mom: Honey we can drive there! You don't have to ru-

I ran fast. I didn't care what she had to say or what would happen. I couldn't stop running. Thoughts flood my mind. Is he ok? Is he alive? What happened? Is this my fault? Of course it is, I'm the idiot who left my phone. After about 20 minutes of running I made it to the hospital. I run inside trying to catch my breath. I walk up to the girl behind the desk.

Me: *heavy breathing*

Receptionist: Can I help you sir?

Me: Did someone come in from an accident? Or anyone that goes by Tobio Kageyama?

Receptionist: Yes, he is in surgery right now

Me: Can I wait here until he gets out?

Receptionist: If you'd like to then yes, I'll tell you when he's awake *smiles*

Me: Thank you

I turn around and find a seat. I sit down and pull on the strings of his hoodie. I waited hours. I started to lose hope. I looked up and his mom and dad were here. My mom and little sister showed up too. Somehow Daichi found out about the accident and called everyone to come. I pull the hood over my face and pull my knees to my chest. Someone sits down next to me and puts their arm around me.

Daichi: Hey he's going to be ok

I lift my head and look at him. His face softens.

Daichi: Hey stop crying he's going to be fine

Me: I hope so

Tanaka: Wait what happened?

Sugawara: No one told you?

Tanaka: *looks around at everyone* Nope

Sugawara: Well Kageyama got hit by a car and is now in surgery

Me: He's been in surgery for hours so

Tanaka: Oh damn is he ok?

Nishinoya: We don't know yet

Everyone finds an empty chair and waits. His mother was crying, I was crying, we were all upset. About 45 minutes later the receptionist calls me up to the desk. I stand up and walk over.

Receptionist: Your Hinata right?

Me: Uh y- yeah

Receptionist: *types something* Ok well after his surgery the doctors said that he is in a coma, I guess he said your name during surgery. He is still alive

Me: Can I see him?

Receptionist: We're only letting family tonight you can see him tomorrow though

Tomorrow's a school day though.

Me: Ok thank you

I turn away crying. His mother and father walk back to see him. I sit down and pull my knees up to my chest. Daichi put his hand on my back. I know I should be happy that he's ok sorta but he's in a coma because he wanted to return my phone. All because I left my stupid phone at his house.

Daichi: Hinata?

Me: *lifts head* Hm?

Daichi: We can come by tomorrow after school if you want

Me: I'm not going to school

Tadashi: Why?

Me: Because I don't feel like it

I get up and walk home. I hold my phone in my hand that the officer handed me after the accident had happened. When I got home my mom and sister were already home. My little sister hugs me and runs up to her room. My mom doesn't say anything and just goes to bed. I walk up to my room and shut my door. I lay down on my bed, my face on my pillow. I waited for everyone to go to sleep before I just broke down. This was all my fault, if I had just stayed there or grabbed my phone he wouldn't be in a fucking coma. I punch my wall putting a hole in it. I cover it with a poster I had laying on the ground. I sit up pulling my knees to my chest. If only I could turn back the time. Tears start falling down my face. I end up falling asleep.
