Part 13

Kageyama's Perspective:

I hear a door open. I tried to open my eyes but couldn't.

My Mom: Honey it's going to be ok, the doctor said that you should wake up soon *crying*

Why was my mom crying? Mom I'm right here I can hear you!

My Dad: Son please fight

Was I dieing?!

My Mom: *places her hand on my hand* Hinata ran over here after the accident, he was pretty upset

Hinata.

My Mom: He wanted to see you tonight but he couldn't, he said he would come by tomorrow

My mom was crying, my dad came and Hinata was crying? What was going on? What happened? The last thing I remember is a car- a car, damnit. Was I hit by a car? Then why am I not dead? Am I in a coma? Why can I still hear them?

My Dad: Well we're going to let you rest now, the doctor said that you can come home in about 3 weeks or so. Your mom will already be in the US by then so you'll have to live with me for a while. I hope you don't mind.

My Mom: We're going to have to tell him all this over again if he wakes up

I'm awake! I can hear you guys! I hear footsteps and a door shut. They must have left. I try and ignore all the thoughts going through my head and the next thing I hear is the door opening. Which was like hours later maybe the next day I don't know. I hear the door shut and footsteps come closer to me. I hear a chair being set down next to me. Someone places their hand on top of mine.

Hinata: Kageyama?

Hinata!

Hinata: If you can hear me I-

His voice cracks, he must be crying..

Hinata: *clears throat* If you can hear me I want you to know that I- I love you. I'm so sorry. This is all my fault. If I hadn't left my phone at your house or just stayed there with you none of this would've happened. Or if I had never read that stupid letter I wouldn't have gotten upset.

He doesn't understand, does he. It's not your fault.

Hinata: I wish I could turn back time, even if it's before we started dating and when you hated my guts I don't care. I wouldn't have to deal with this guilt that it's all my fault.

I try and move my hand and end up making my hand flinch. Hinata pulls his hand off mine. I try and move my hand again and move it again.

Hinata: Kageyama!?

Yeah? I'm ok! I'm trying to show you that!

Hinata: You can hear me?! If you can hear me move your hand again

I tried really hard but couldn't. I could hear he was upset so I tried again. And I did it.

Hinata: You can hear me!?

I could tell he was crying but it sounded like happy tears. I smile to myself.

Hinata: I'm glad you can hear me, it's weird that I'm talking to you and there's no answer. Even if you call me shorty or carrot top or whatever it was I wish you could say something.

I wish I could say something too. Anything. I hear a door open and footsteps.

Doctor: Hinata?

Hinata: Yes?

Doctor: Visiting time is over

Hinata: Oh yeah sorry I'll leave, *looks down at me* Please wake up

And just like that I heard a door close and didn't hear anyone for a while.
