TEXT FILE NUMBER G 1.0: NEWS ARTICLE FROM THE ARCHANGEL HERALD

LOCATION: TOWNSHIP OF ARCHANGEL, WASHINGTON STATE

DATE: AUGUST 12, 2018

TEXT FILE BEGINS

The apparent suicide of a young man on the west side of Archangel has sent ripples through his family and left members of the community in a state of shock.

Twenty-seven-year-old Roger Orlov was found dead outside his home on Monday morning. His body was discovered by his mother, Svetlana Orlov, after she returned home from a shift at the TARN Defense Industries main campus where she works as a defense contractor.

According to social media accounts that appear to belong to Mr. Orlov, he was employed as a store clerk at the Round Robin fueling station on State Route 23. However, according to sources close to the case, Mr. Orlov was recently fired from that job after missing three successive shifts prior to the discovery of his body. As there is no word on the time of death, it remains unclear if the termination of Mr. Orlov's employment played a part in his death, or if those work shifts occurred after the fact.

Round Robin Incorporated issued a statement saying, "We are deeply saddened by the death of one of our former Archangel location Team Players. As an expression of our gratitude for his service to the Round Robin Team, we would like to extend a thirty day, ten percent discount on all varieties of our Ultra Chiller Blast™ and Mega Chiller Blast™ Specialty Beverages. We hope that the tongue-bursting flavor of ice cold Chiller™ will help to ease the grief of their loved one's passing."

Authorities at the Archangel County Sheriff's Department have declined to comment on Mr. Orlov, citing the fact that there is an ongoing investigation surrounding his death. However, law enforcement sources close to the case tell us that his death appears to be the result of suicide. However, Daniella Dawson, a twenty-three year old Archangel local claiming to be Mr. Orlov's girlfriend says that she does not believe there is any chance that Mr. Orlov took his own life.

"We were supposed to be on a trip to Seattle next weekend. He said that he had a surprise for me. I think he was going to ask me to marry him," she told the Herald. "He wouldn't have killed himself. He was happy. He loved life."

Though Ms. Dawson's relationship with Mr. Orlov could not be independently verified, Mr. Orlov's Instagram and Facebook accounts show a young man who appears smiling and happy, often posing with a young woman of an age that appears consistent with that provided by Ms. Dawson.

Mr. Orlov moved to Archangel with his parents in 2005 from the city of Kazan, in the Russian Federation. Prior to immigrating, he attended State School Four in Kazan. Mr Orlov was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 2015 after serving two overseas tours on the USS Nimitz. He is survived by his mother, father, and two sisters. Mr. Orlov's family was unavailable for comment at the time of this story.
