Note from the Editors
The following is a transcript of an interview of Archangel County Sheriff's Department Sergeant Daniel Roe by an unknown interviewer. The audio file was delivered to us anonymously by email. The content makes clear that the interview was conducted while Sergeant Roe was in hospice, just prior to his death from pancreatic cancer. The male interviewer (or at least presumably male, as Sergeant Roe refers to the interviewer as "Sir" throughout the audio file) remains unidentified.
This file is of special significance to our project. Throughout the course of our work on this project, we have reached out to the Archangel Sheriff's Department multiple times in the hopes of gathering materials that might shed some light on the disappearances of Brandon Jones, his sister Amanda Jones, or her friend Crystal Mira. To date, every effort has been ignored by their office, and with the exception of Brandon's interview of Aaron Durlick, this file is the only primary source of information we have been able to attain from an official in the Archangel Sheriff's Department.

Sergeant Roe, thank you for meeting with me.
POLICE SERGEANT DAN ROE
It's not like you gave me much choice, sir.
UNKNOWN MALE INTERVIEWER
You mean the tape.
POLICE SERGEANT DAN ROE
Of course I mean the goddamned tape.
UNKNOWN MALE INTERVIEWER
I understand your frustration. I imagine I'd feel the same if someone had recorded me doing what you did to that poor man.
POLICE SERGEANT DAN ROE
You're a son of a bitch, you know that?
UNKNOWN MALE INTERVIEWER
I know I am. I wonder though, why are you so afraid of it being released? It's not like it's going to matter to you in another month.
POLICE SERGEANT DAN ROE
If you can't understand why I want to uphold the good name I've had in this town for the last two decades, then there's no way I can explain it to you.
UNKNOWN MALE INTERVIEWER
Even when that reputation is unearned? You did, after all, shoot an unarmed suspect in the back. And while he was handcuffed, no less.
POLICE SERGEANT DAN ROE
Just give me the tape.
UNKNOWN MALE INTERVIEWER
(AUDIBLE LAUGH) No need to get angry.
POLICE SERGEANT DAN ROE
Is this the only one?
UNKNOWN MALE INTERVIEWER
It isn't the only incriminating tape in my possession, if that's what you mean. But it is the only tape I have of you committing that specific crime.
POLICE SERGEANT DAN ROE
What the hell are you talking about?
