That night, in Fin's room, Esti sat on his bed, uneasy. Had she done the wrong thing? She had assumed that Denmark wouldn't have wanted her around if Norway had suggested Finland's place for the night, but now that she was here, she couldn't help but stare out the window longingly.

Finland was still working downstairs. He had long, laboursome hours, polishing swords and sharpening their edges, reenforcing their handles to make sure they wouldn't snap off amidst battle.

It took her a bit of time before she decided she didn't want to be here anymore. If she had to, she would come back, but she would rather be at Den's place than anything.

She carefully stepped down the stairs, tapping on Fin's shoulder and telling him that she wanted to go back to Denmark's house. He hesitantly allowed her, but he said that if she ever needed his help, he was here for her.

That made her feel more safe and comforted, at least. She knew he was a good guy then.

Stepping out bare-footed into the cold night, she made her way hastily back to Denmark's home, hugging herself as she looked behind her every few minutes, a little paranoid. Would Den even be home? Would he let her in?

Bringing her hand up and knocking, she stood by the door quietly, listening for any signs of life inside.

There was the sound of clattering dishes, but then it stopped. No one answered the door.

A minute or so passed before there was a soft scratching sound at the door and a very loud meow. Den wasn't home, but the stray cat must've come in through the open window, and now wanted to get out.

She opened the door, letting the cat outside as she frowned, closing the door once it had walked between her feet.

God, this was all her fault, wasn't it? Why was she so useless?

"Esti?"

There was Den, jogging down the street towards her. After he had stopped by Fin's to learn that Esti had walked to Den's house by herself, Den had hurried to catch up with her. He had his bow slung over his back, and in one hand he held a small pouch, which contained the remains of a rabbit. He didn't have much luck hunting.

Esti whipped her head around and panicked slightly when she saw Den, stuck between being joyful and honestly, betrayed in a sense.

"Den?" Her voice was delicate as she stood awkwardly in front of the door, stuck between two feelings as her heartbeat rose.

"Jupiter, why didn't you at least have Fin walk you here?" He reached her and took a moment to catch his breath, holding her upper arms and giving her a onceover to make sure nothing was wrong. "You could've gotten kidnapped or something, there's a lot of sketchy people out at night. C'mon, lets get you inside."

He ushered her through the door, still pretty concerned about her well being. "Have you eaten yet? Did Fin do something to make you want to leave?"

There was hurt laced in her voice as she looked at Den, still standing awkwardly as she held herself.

"You fucked another girl?" She mumbled quietly, tears stinging her eyes. It was pathetic to be so hurt and jealous over something so small. "I'm sorry I'm too childish for you. I'm sorry I'm not good enough for you. I'm sorry that I contribute nothing." her hand found the door handle again, the feeling of wanting to leave flooding back.

She didn't want to be anywhere.

"I'm sorry I let Finland kiss me the other day. I didn't know if it was okay. I thought there must have been something wrong with me when you didn't want to after being so intimate." Tears threatened to spill and run down her cheeks. "All I'm doing is ruining your relationship with your brothers."
