Betrayal Of A Nation

Fundy watched as Tommy walked out of the hot dog van red-faced and tear tracks obvious on his face. Fundy didn't blame him if he had that level of friendship with anyone and they decided to betray him he'd be devastated.

Tommy and Tubbo were basically inseparable and seeing one without the other and not even on their way to go join the other in doing something felt unnatural. Fundy almost looked around to search for Tubbo after seeing Tommy leave despite knowing that Tubbo had betrayed them because it felt so unlikely.

Fundy sighed slightly before turning back to what he was doing. He needed to talk to Eret but Eret had left after Wilbur's speech and he had only said that he was going to get the resources they lost after their stuff being burned in the recent battle. Opening his com Fundy quickly typed to Eret to give him his coords so he could go help him mine. Eret was quick to respond with the set of coordinates and Fundy grabbed a stack of wood and his pickaxes with a few others just to make sure he'd be set for a resource grinding session. Fundy set off making his way to the coordinates he was sent.

Finally getting there he went through the poorly mined stairway down until the path leveled out and split off into a couple of further tunnels which appeared to also split off as well. The tunnel was reasonably high but that didn't stop the ears on Fundy's mask from scraping slightly against the low ceiling of the mine.

"Hey Eret, where are you?" Fundy yelled down the mine listening to the echo before a deep voice from one of the tunnels yelled back.

"Farthest tunnel on the left," Fundy made his way down the hall carefully avoiding the torches that were placed on the floor to avoid creatures from spawning.

Turning his way into the narrow tunnel he saw the brunet digging away at the wall for a chunk of iron. Fundy noticed he was still wearing his glasses which must've been hell since the torches while placed basically everywhere were very dim.

"You know you don't have to wear your sunglasses when you're with me," Fundy said as he began mining along with the other man.

"I know, but it's like your mask and I suppose now Tommy's scarf, it's comforting and I believe all of us need a bit more comfort than usual today,"

"I suppose your right, do you think Tommy's comfort comes from the scarf itself or the fact that by the looks of it it's really thick and warm,"

"I think it's how heavy it must be, it's long enough that it can wrap up to his lower face and still have parts hanging on his chest,"

"If that's the case do you think we could get Niki to teach us how to make one?"

"We might have to help her get the wool and things like that it I believe so, why planning on making one for him,"

"It might make him feel better having something specially made just for him after what happened,"

"I still can't believe that Tubbo betrayed us, it just doesn't seem like him,"

"Yeah, but I suppose we never really knew him as well as we thought, I mean do we really know anything about him?"

"He likes bees, and his favorite color is green, but I only know those cause Tommy told me when I asked about Tubbo since I had just joined,"

"I know what my dad told me but all that consisted of was don't piss him off and that he's an ally and whatnot ya know,"

"Yeah, I think it was just the fact that he was a kid, like it feels unreal cause he was a kid that acted like one unlike Tommy who try's his best not to,"

Fundy hummed in response before gasping as the stone gave away to reveal the blue gemstone they'd been looking for. Eventually the topic passed and both Eret and Fundy continued mining in pleasant silence.

If Fundy would guess what Tommy was feeling when Tubbo betrayed him it would feel like Eret had betrayed him but, he wouldn't know because Eret didn't betray them so he really had no idea what Tommy was going through.
