Hopping back onto the DreamSMP Tubbo flopped onto the nearest bed. Training had been long and he hadn't even won a single round. Dream has said he had something to attend to on a different server so he wouldn't be hopping back on immediately. Tubbo jumped slightly at the sudden noise of a notification. He didn't usually set notifications on anyone but Tommy and Tommy hadn't spoken to him since the betrayal leaving a sinking feeling that even if Tubbo got the discs and their independence he wouldn't be forgiven.

Opening the notification he was greeted with a small message from Tommy that only included a series of coordinates and that they were in the nether other than that it was basically impossible to decipher anything even if he didn't have dyslexia. Nonetheless, he packed food and water into his backpack along with a sword and he pulled on gold armor and made his way to the nether portal. Getting into the nether was awful it was always a sudden wave of heat that would almost always knock him onto his back but he was on a mission so he steadied himself before opening up the coordinates and started on his way. Making his way through the already made tunnels probably by Tommy.

He finally got to the coordinates only to be greeted by a passed out Tommy who's too pale and looks awful. Tubbo wasn't particularly strong he was known for his speed, not his strength. Grabbing Tommy's lanky form he got him into a fireman's carry and made his way back to the portal. He stepped out of the burning hot nether and into the overworld. Making his way into the forest because he wasn't about to accidentally hurt Tommy more than if Dream found out what he was doing. Pulling out the peppermint colored scarf Tubbo had crocheted he switched it out and put the yellow scarf into his backpack. Uncapping a water bottle he poured the contents onto Tommy's head and swallowed his loyalty and stomached the horrid guilt that he knew he'd be feeling soon.

"Oi, Tommy get up, honestly you should take better care of yourself you know damn well not to go into the nether in such hot clothing. Wilbur has told you not to before and I know cause I was there, for ignoring basic instructions you kind of deserve it," Tubbo knew that Tommy was very slowly coming to and he had to keep up the act but every word hurt more than the last.

Slowly Tommy's skin became less pale and he groaned opening his eyes. Tubbo put on his best sneer but he couldn't make the disgust go to his eyes which softened when Tommy quickly backed away from him afraid.

"Welcome back, you're alive somehow," Tubbo commented under his breath. Tommy shifted and opened his com. Tubbo felt sick to his stomach when instead of yelling at him he opened his com and started typing.

'Thank you,' was all the message said.

"Your welcome now wanna tell me why you sent me the text and not literally anyone who actually cares about you like Wilbur or Niki or hell even Fundy," Tubbo snapped he slid into the persona he uses on his birth server. Sharp words and harsh tone but it wasn't real his voice wavered more and more when Tommy's eyes glazed over slightly. Tommy reached his hands up to begin typing another message but Tubbo was quick to put a stop to that. "Don't use you com I'm right in front of you and I know your not mute because of all the yelling you do on the regular so just tell me instead of changing the topic,"

Tommy mumbled something inaudible. Tubbo made a small sound of confusion which would usually make Tommy hell at him for not listening but instead, Tommy just tried again at just a bit high volume barely above a whisper.

"You told me you don't like it when I talk," Tubbo felt like he'd been socked in the face. He didn't know what to do. He had to keep his cover but His Best friend was hurting and it was his fault so he had to fix it.

Tubbo hugged Tommy tightly. Pulling the taller closer to him. He knew that he'd have to make an excuse for why he had hugged the other but for now all that mattered was the long arms that wrapped around his back and pulled him closer. Despite the fact that he hadn't seen him in days Tommy was still Tommy. He still smelled like lemons and his hair was still the same strawberry blond hair he loved playing with before the war started and they no longer had any time to rest. Tommy was still Tommy he was just a bit quieter and a bit shyer.

"I don't hate when you speak, you would just talk over me a lot, you don't like being talked over so why would I? I just phrased it wrong, that's on me," Tubbo whispered to Tommy and he relaxed into him as the hug got tighter. Tubbo wanted Tommy back. He didn't mind if Tommy was quieter or shyer than he used to be. He just wanted Tommy to be happy and he was the one who ruined Tommy's happiness with a single sentence that was phrased wrong and couldn't be taken back.

Tubbo knew Tommy was crying from the way his breathing hitched and he hiccuped silently. Tubbo stayed in the hug for as long as he could. The peppermint scarf that now hung around Tommy's neck and down across his chest was soft and Tubbo silently thanked his past self for making sure to grab such a nice yarn.

The sun was setting and he knew he'd have to go soon but he wanted to stay in Tommy's arms for longer. He felt safe in His Best friend's presence, safer than he'd felt in days. Soft slow warmth spread through his body as he pressed his face into Tommy's chest curling himself into the taller teen. He knew Dream would be suspicious if he stayed out all night but he didn't want to go back. Dream has quickly become somewhat of an older brother figure which scared him. He switched sides for Tommy but the longer he spent on Dream's side the more he felt at home. An anarchist and his friends who weren't concerned when he mentioned something that would terrify those in L'Manberg. Dreams side felt like his home, where he was supposed to be but Tommy was Tommy and he's know since he first met him that where ever he went he'd follow even if it sent him to hell in the end because Tommy was His Best friend and he'd die before anyone hurt him.

Tubbo felt Tommy's breath even out and pulled himself away slowly trying not to wake him up. He needed to go but before he went he pulled out three bottles of water and placed them next to him. He sent Dream a message telling him that he was doing some late-night grinding for XP and that he'd be home late. He pulled himself into the tree across from Tommy's sleeping form and waited until he woke up staying out of sight. He had shot down a few zombies before they came close enough to Tommy to even attack him but other than that the night was peaceful. As morning came and Tommy awoke Tubbo made sure he was hidden in the tree as to not be seen.

Tommy looked around before seeing the water bottles that laid next to him and smiled slightly. Tubbo loves the way Tommy smiled he felt that in those seconds that lead to the smile were the happiest he could be. Tommy opened his backpack and put two of the water bottles in before uncapping the third and sipping on it as he stood up and made his way back to L'Manberg. Tubbo stayed in the tree until he was sure Tommy had made it out of the forest.

Jumping out of the tree he rolled as he hit the ground to disperse the damage. He knew he had to get the discs faster, he'd taken too long already and he felt sick knowing that he was warming up to his enemies. Tommy was already waiting for him on the other side and he'd be damned if he'd make him wait much longer.

A/N we are slowly but surely reaching the end of the book, apologize for taking so long on this chapter but good things take time. While you're waiting on the next chapter to come out consider reading one of my other books! I have a small one-shot fluff book that has requests open and I have a love story that I'm currently working on with the pairing FundywasTaken as they're canonically engaged on the DreamSMP and as far as I know they both are comfortable with shipping. I didn't edit this as well as I usually do so if you see any misspellings or grammatical errors that slipped by me feel free to comment and tell me so I can fix them!
