AMINA STARTED GETTING recognized in public more often, and she hated it. She knew being famous meant having an understanding that paparazzi were going to follow you everywhere and take pictures, but that still didn't make her hate it any less.

She should've known the precautions of becoming famous, and Brandy still scheduled her classes on how to control her anger and anxiety when dealing with paparazzi and fans.

She was on high alert when stepping out of her apartment-both now and back in Queens. Being extra cautious came with being a woman. She could never enjoy a night out by herself without having to worry if the man standing in the corner of the street was a racist and would do or say anything to her.

It was just worse now that she had to be more careful and cautious with her surroundings. Brandy said he assigned bodyguards for Amina, and she didn't argue against it. The thought of being followed with flashing lights and having to regain energy paparazzi from fans to stalkers.

She was contemplating Noah's advice on getting a pit bull, not only for a companion but also as a protector. She was more lonely than she was back then. Before, she had people to talk to at work or on the streets, not all she had was a man she was paying to be in her life and a woman who trailed after him like a puppy dog. Adding to that, dogs could sense danger, and most definitely could tell if someone was too close to comfort from her.

Mavis sat cross-legged on the leather couch, engrossed in her phone to notice Amina's anxiety.

Amina wasn't supposed to be in there today, but the studio was much better than staying in her empty and lonely apartment. Here she could hang out with Noah and play around with music and try to record something she'd find recordable.

She didn't know why Mavis was here, though. The woman stalked into the room like she owned it and threw herself on the couch and played on her phone. For being one of the works most prominent female artists, she rarely did anything with her time.

Amina expected for Mavis to be out shopping, dining or hanging out with friends. But that's what it all was. Expectations. Mavis wasn't what she expected. It was like Brandy was her only friend and the only person Mavis felt comfortable being around. She trusted him.

"What's that noise?"

Loud beats vibrated throughout the walls and the once empty floor was echoing different guitar tunes. It felt refreshing hearing music made from scratch. She was itching to start recording her music already.

Three more days. Three more days until she can finally do what she signed up for. She was finally going to have her voice heard.

"Polo and a few other writers are getting ready to start their session with Luca."

Amina's eyebrows furrowed. "Doesn't he have his studio in his house?"

From what Amina noticed, no big artist was ever in the studio. It was a deserted level with just Noah and Amina roaming around from room to room. Newer artists used the management's small studios since they didn't have enough money to have their own.
