"MAYBE THIS WASN'T such a good idea." Amina muttered to Luca as she watched random people walking past them with furrowed eyebrows. It was now midnight in the blissful city. Cars drove passed them and music played loudly throughout the streets. Groups of friends laughed amongst each other as they walked with their heads high and worries far behind them.
Amina and Luca looked like the odd ones out. Both dressed too nicely to be walking to a hotdog stand, and if someone looked closely, they'd see the large intimidating man in a suit trailing not too far behind them.
Luca turned to look at her as they continued walking. "What, why?"
"You realize who you are, right?" She muttered softly as two young women walked past them with curious eyes. "Anyone can spot you from a mile away."
Luca scoffed as he combed a finger through his hair. "I can get away with looking like a regular white guy."
They had gotten their food just minutes ago, but had no idea where they were going to eat. Most of the bars were packed and they couldn't eat outside with the paparazzi and fans to worry about.
A loud engine from behind them surprised Luca as a car zoomed past them suddenly. He watched Amina jump slightly and move closer to Luca at the sudden closeness of the car to her body.
Luca grabbed Amina's elbow as he slowly brought her in front of him and placed on the opposite side of the sidewalk. "Move over here."
Atticus walked closer behind them, on full alert as his eyes diverted to everything that could be a viable threat to Luca or Amina.
Luca thought buying the body guard a meal would loosen him up and get him tired up, but it did exactly the opposite. Atticus was now wide awake from the soda Luca offered him and his once empty stomach was now filled from the hotdog he devoured in two seconds.
"Thought you were going to lose him?" Amina teased as she bumped her shoulder against Luca's arm playfully.
He would on a normal occasion-but this was anything but normal.
"I would if I was by myself."
"Why? Afraid I'll kill you?" She teased.
"More afraid that someone would try to kill you while standing by me." Luca bluntly said, his eyes staring straight ahead.
"Wouldn't want blood on your shoes."
"I couldn't care less about my shoes." Luca muttered offendedly.
"Sure."
Luce rolled his eyes as he went back to the subject at hand. "Being here is like signing a death contract."
He wanted to open her eyes to what she signed up for. Brandy wasn't going to tell her anything or explain everything that could badly happen to her. He was going to keep her in the dark and expect her to be fine when she goes through the things she was never warned she would go through.
"How so?"
"Your signing up for potential stalkers and jealous people to get to you." He sighed, "you're also challenging your mental health."
Amina cast her eyes down to the sidewalk. "Didn't think of it like that." She admitted.
"Most don't. I didn't think I'd be here but look at me," he gestured to his body, "didn't think of the consequences of signing onto Manning Records."
A sudden area caught both of their attention.
The vacant park that was barely viewable to the human eye unless truly looked at was the destination Amina wanted to go to while Luca wanted to go anywhere but.
